  1. I have a 2002 Gmc sierra 2500 with 6.0 motor, i just changed out the oil pan gasket and as i put it all back in place and got all the normal size oil pan bolts tightened down but the last 2 long bolts near the rear (towards bell housing i think its called). i ended up tightening one too much and it sheered off inside the bolt hole about a inch of the threads. i bought a bolt extractor kit to try and get the piece out but its sheered off so deep inside the hole(6-8" deep) that i cant get a center punch or drill bit up in that far to get the old bolt piece out. Was wondering if i even need both of those bolts since it doesnt seem like that bolt will effect the gasket leaking? or if i could just put in the 1 good bolt and maybe seal off the other hole with some high temp silocone or jb weld. or do i just need to look at buying a really long center punch and left handed drill bits?
