So glad to hear this worked and the fix was easy! Did you use an online tutorial to guide the removal of old screen and install the new one? A link would be super helpful, if you have one. My 2016 Silverado has this same problem, and I've just come from the dealership, where they quoted me $800 parts and labor to change out the screen. That's on top of the $100 I paid today for diagnostics. Thinking of tackling it by myself and looking for any helpful hints. Thanks!
