  1. How is the delete? I didn't do it and I don't use my Range AFM device either. It made it shift hard and just act weird. I keep up on my oil changes and seafoam every so often to keep her clean on the inside.
  2. I wish mine was a broken spring lol. 5k for new cam and lifters. I love my truck though so I guess it was worth it.
  3. Cam lobe was worn just enough to cause a misfire. We didn't see it the first time because we used a camera.
  4. Yes we found the issue. We repaired the valves and the truck ran good just for about a month then the same stuff started happeneing again. I finally decided to let my buddy do a full teardown. We inspected the cam lobe using a camera which is fine in the moment but we decided to pull the cam and we found the lobe on cylinder 8 was worn just enough to cause a misfire. The lifter had damaged to the roller but it was still functioning. Prob because of bad oil changes from previous owner. We put a new cam and all 8 lifters in and she works great now.
  5. Update. I wanted to share what all has happened over the past few months. The truck ran great for about 2 weeks then the misifre started to really show itself at idle. So my buddy and I said screw it and took it apart to see if it was the dreaded lifter or camshaft causing this. We found a functioning lifter on cylinder 8... and we found no damage to the lobe... What we did fine was a burnt exhaust valve. The head wasn't warped so we did a deep clean and replaced the valves and wouldn't you know... No more misfire and a perfectly running truck!
  6. I have a similar issue going on. I have a 2015 GMC sierra 6.2L and it is only misfiring on cylinder 8. I have tried everything. I have good compression, tried new plugs, new wires, injectors, and all. I checked all rocker arms and they are working great. How big was the break in your spring?? I didn't inspect mine too much but now I'm convinced I have the same dang issue.
  7. Ohh I see now. Well that would make sense. I’m gonna keep driving it and hope to have no more issues with it. I’m getting the oil changed next week and I’ll have them check for any metal shavings just to be sure. My buddy also told me that since I was having that misfire, the cylinders could get very dirty with carbon build up. What cleaner would you recommend running through my engine to help with any of that stuff? I used Seafoam once like a month ago but just curious on your thoughts.
  8. Dude I Know lol. So Is it possible one of the other cylinders was causing the 8th cylinder to misfire? What is weird is when I took it to the dealership, the technical guy told me cylinder 8 was a AFM cylinder. Which I know isn’t right. I agree that 1, 4, 6, and 7 are AFM cylinders. I want to ask this as well. When the truck goes in V4 mode, the lifter collapses right? Is it possible a lifter can get stuck in the uncollapsed position?
  9. Exactly so I’m as confused as you are.
  10. Just posted an update. Here is a video of what I did.
  11. Yes. So my truck was only missing at idle. We tried new plugs, wires, injectors, and we made sure of all the small things. No intake leaks or anything at all. I took it to a dealership and they told me it was a lifter. They wanted 5K FROM ME which I’d be okay with but the guy couldn’t explain how the lifter was only messing up at idle. So I said no and I bought a Range AFM disabler. It fixed my issue. I’m not sure how it fixed it but it did. No more misfire and no more flashing cel or stabiltrak.
  12. Ohh I see. Okay well tomorrow or Wednesday my buddy and I are gonna check one last thing. We did have the valve cover off to check the springs but we never did check to see if I could be dealing with a collapsed lifter on the cylinder 8. We never really ruled out a bent pushrod or something but if that is the case, I expect the camshaft to of taken some damage as well. I’ll update once we check.
  13. My truck is misfiring at idle and I have a code P0308. Did your truck make a noise with that push rod being bent??
  14. Hmm. Wouldn’t I be having more issues than just one cylinder if the camshaft lobes were bad? I’m not a mechanic I’m just trying to understand lol. I also had a guy tell me to order the AFM delete issue as it could be something going on with that AFM lifters. He said he plugged that in and it fixed his rough idle and misfiring issue. I thought I’d try that first before anything else. I don’t wanna put crazy money in it if I don’t have to.
  15. Please let me know what you figure out. It’s so weird how it drives perfectly fine but idles like crap. I’m gonna check my battery wires such as the ground and stuff today for damage. so far I’ve replaced the injectors, swapped coils, clean throttle body, ran seafoam through it many times, clean MAS, replaced spark plugs and wires. We even smoked it and can’t find any leaks. It makes me more mad that it’s on one cylinder that performs perfect fine and has great compression.
