  1. So I’ve recently added 4.56 gears to my 2017 Sierra 1500 and while camping this past weekend I was making a left hand turn at a slow speed while in 4 wheel high and I heard some weird noises. Quick research online says it is binding. I was on a dirt road when this happened. Is there anything I need to do or was this just a result of having too much traction when in 4 wheel high? Do I need to take it in to have my truck looked at?
  2. So, just installed the mishimoto today and it’s perfect. I left the stock thermostat and fan settings in it and it now runs about 190. I drove around for about an hour and I only seen the temp gauge rise to the 210 mark only once, then it dropped back down to the 190. I’m guessing that is when the thermostat opened up. I took a pick of the temp gauge after about 30 minutes of driving.
  3. So are we all in agreement? I should be fine running the 180 degree thermostat with the mishimoto radiator and no tune? lol
  4. I will try the 180 and see what happens. I planned on getting a tune at some point so I could have it corrected if a code shows
  5. I have a 180 degree thermostat that I ordered from summit that I planned on throwing in. I’ll look at the katech ones now.
  6. Just ordered mine. Do I need to order the chill coolant or can I use an over the counter brand?
  7. I have a 2017 Sierra 1500 5.3 4x4. I just picked up the truck today after getting 4.56 gears installed. I noticed my speed on the dash is about 15mph faster than my actual speed, according to the speed app I was using. How do I get this recalibrated?
  8. Post some pics when you’re done.
  9. I have a 2017 gmc sierra 1500 5.3 4x4 that I use to tow my travel trailer here in Arizona. While towing on grades, I notice the engine temp will keep up to 240 degrees, but then go back down once the truck levels out. I have been reading a lot about different mods, changing the thermostat, etc. but what I really want to do is as the Mishimoto radiator. There isn’t a lot of info out there in terms of anyone doing it and what results they had. I did read somewhere that some guy purchased an all aluminum 3 core radiator (not Mishimoto) and it worked so well that he had all kinds of warning lights in his Silverado cause the motor never got up to temp. My question is, will I need to also change the thermostat and have the fan settings changed after I purchase this radiator, or do we think stock settings will Be fine. Let me know. Thanks!
  10. I have a 2017 sierra 1500 5.3 4x4 CC and I am looking to upgrade to brembos, or any other big brake set up. I tow a travel trailer so I am looking for better braking. The truck is lifted with 35s and 20 inch rims. While searching eBay, I find all kinds of GM calipers that came off of Camaros, Escalades, etc. and all say they will fit 2019 and up sierras. My question is, will 2019 sierra/silverado calipers fit a 2017? I can’t seem to find any specific for 17s. Any thoughts are helpful. Thank you.
  11. So all you did was upgrade the cooling on the tranny and that improved the cooling for the truck as well?
  12. I have a 2017 sierra with a 5.3, and like others, my engine starts running hotter while towing uphill. can I just purchase the camaro thermo and not change the tune on the fans, or do I also need to make that change? I am unsure of how to change the fan settings. please let me know if/how and also if even required if I purchase the 194 degree thermostat.
