  2. As I was trying to look up the differences between the old design and new design I found this... The most common problem with the oil pump drive gears of the FORD 10R80 transmission and the similarly designed GM 10L90 transmission is transmission noise from the torque converter. But according to the assurances of the manufacturers themselves, the noise is associated with the design of the gear teeth, namely the rectilinear arrangement of the teeth. This tooth design is less durable compared to helical gears, since the contact patch in gears with a linear arrangement of teeth is smaller, which in turn affects strength. There are cases when the teeth on the drive gear are damaged, which ultimately entails the complete destruction of the gear. This problem is more common on transmissions installed on vehicles with diesel engines than on gasoline versions. After working on the mistakes, the manufacturer changed the type of gear from linear to helical. Helical tooth gears have a larger contact patch, which allows them to withstand greater loads with fewer teeth. This design is more reliable than linear gears.
  3. Awesome, thank you! I just did a basic build sheet search online...
  4. I just pulled my build sheet and it turns out I have the 8 speed not the 10 speed. Is this SB still applicable?
  5. Likewise but also it was nice to be able to adjust my tire size so quick too. I cant imagine it would matter much with the throttle response set to 5 and how the transmission shifts. I think my transmission issues are unrelated to the pulsar though.
  6. No overheat warnings at all. I wasn't religious in monitoring the trans temp but when I did it never went over 200. 202 may 205 was the highest probably. As for the aux water pump, that had been leaking over time and its being replaced now. I'm mistaken then, I thought it had a part in helping cool the transmission. ============= I just read over that service bulletin and I am now confident that is my issue. With this issue being on a SB, are they treated like recalls or is the cost of repair still on the customer?
  7. I've had mine on with zero issues for a good bit as well until now. Hard to say if the issues I'm having are related to the pulsar. Did you do any transmission shift point changes?
  8. I just made a post regarding my transmission issues... In the prior 2-3 weeks I had been noticing this same shudder a lot of you had mentioned. I didn't know of this new and improved fluid. I also heard that there was a redesigned gear or something for the 10 speed GM had done after issues with backorder delays...?

  10. I've had a slow coolant leak for awhile but couldn't locate the source of it until now. The aux water pump finally went bad. I had been keeping it on life support by monitoring the coolant levels and refilling as needed. After it finally went bad is when the transmission started making the god awful noise you hear in the Video. As soon as it started chattering I got off the road ASAP. The truck never went into limp mode, threw any codes, or had issues shifting. The noise was bit quieter when in reverse. I've identified the noise to be coming from the transmission. Looking for assistance in what the issue could be before I start dismantling.
  11. So it looks like what happened is that the aux water pump went bad by leaking overtime and finally died. That system is tied into helping cool the transmission. That noise in the video is coming from the transmission, so Its at the dealer now being looked into.
  12. Engine oil is fine, just checked. It looks like the part I’m needing is the turbo intercooler pump.
  13. I’ve been having slight issues over the past few months with my coolant level dropping, the having to refill reservoir. The temp gauge was ever so slightly running a bit warmer than usual. Well today after work I hear, what I can only describe as a possessed can of marbles being abused I’ve got a link to pictures and a video. Please help me identify what I need to replace to get back up and running. 1 2 3 Video
  14. Can you tell me how you wired it all up? I have the same wiring questions as you.
  15. Awesome, thanks.
  16. I'm about to do this exact install on my 2020. Good to know about the high pass filter removal. My question is did you use the wires right there in the dash or did you you run new wires and splice into the door speaker siring? I read some comments on a youtube video that said you get better sound if you tap into the door speakers.
  17. I saw a 23 1500 with refreshed interior and column shifter with bench seat though. I would guess that's the only way GM made the column shifter avail was if you had a bench seat. If you could find a truck that had those options I bet it'd be easier to swap in a center console in place of the middle bench seat.
  18. Sounds like I might have an issue or something. My RST is stock with the babymax and the best ive seen is 25. Are y'all using the 25/50/400 mpg calculator in the dash options or doing a manual old school math calculation?
  19. The exact lift kit I will be installing is the motofab kit 3 inch front and 2 inch rear with the improved UCAs. I have some ugly stock chrome wheels right now with the 275/55/20s. Truck is a 2020 RST with 3.0 Duramax. With everything I have read and seen, Depending on the tire brand I should be able to fit 35s relatively easy. I'm most likely going to plastidip the wheels until I can find another set with the same dimensions as stock that look better on a black truck.
