  1. Hello everyone new to the forum and looking to see if I can gather some info on rebuilding an L83 out of my 2015 1500. Bought the truck knowing it had issues and had been dod/afm deleted with a TSP kit. Motor would run but die once engine temps got hot. Tried a few things and decided it was time to pull the engine and figure out the issue. Got the motor pulled and found a hefty amount of piston/ ring land damage causing a decent amount of cylinder scoring. Sent the engine to the machine shop to have cylinders bored thinking it would just have to go 10-20 over. Well the engine is now bored 30 over to a 3.81 cylinder bore. From what I have read that is quite thin on these motors and very few manufacturers make a piston in this size. I’ve even heard it might need an re-sleeve? Anyone have any recommendations on piston/ rod combos that would work? Or am I screwed and this block trashed?
