  1. No way this is true. A dealer somewhere might accept x-plan but that's it. 15k off? That's funny
  2. I'm coming from a Ford with a3 inch hitch. The 3500 has a 2 1/2 inch. I'm looking for a 6 inch drop with some sort of cushion inside. It has to be the heaviest possible. I had a weigh safe before. I liked it but it was solid aluminum and had no give to it. Also, 2 5/16 ball mostly but I do use a 2 inch a little. Looking for any advice. Thanks
  3. I do like my 450. I would have another one if they could make it. However, looking forward to a new style and brand. Hopefully it rides smoother than the 450. Weight capacity is close and I never pushed the boundaries with the Ford. I had a350 dually before the 450 and never had issues turning.
  4. Thanks for the analysis and just about what I'm thinking also. Just so surprised to get 2 calls on the same day. And if I wasn't clear earlier, I didn't really order the first Chevy; that dealer must've ordered it on his own. So I really only have 1 Chevy and 1gmc on order. Plus the Ford-which doesn't count in my mind
  5. Good point on signing an agreement. I called this dealer several times to see what they had appraised my f450 at several months ago. He never returned my calls. Not quite sure what's going on there. I had forgotten all about him till today.
  6. I played by the rules for 10 months and didn't get a truck. I see dealers selling trucks on the lot and my original order not getting built. I don't like to order multiple trucks but when I straight out told each dealer I may not take the truck I was ordering, they all said they could sell these trucks. I got screwed playing by the rules the first time
  7. I ordered another f 450 10+ months ago. Pretty sure Ford isn't going to make it. In June, I went to a Chevy dealer and looked at trucks. I never heard back from him. I then ordered a3500 high country dually from another dealer. I then ordered a gmc Denali ultimate thru our company's fleet plan. I haven't heard from the fleet plan guy yet but the first dealer called out of the blue this mining and said my trucks in. I told him I didn't order it but still may take it. The other Chevy dealer called me this morning and said that truck is in. If I take one of these trucks, I will lose the deposit I had to put down on the fleet plan. It was $2000. I'm overwhelmed at this point. Ford can't make a truck to save their life and GM is pumping them out. Hate to lose $2000 but this strike will cause chaos. Not sure what to do
  8. I ordered a F450 in October. Dealer has been no help. Ordered a 3500 high country dually in late June since Ford is not making trucks. Chevy dealer has kept me informed. Looks like this will be built at end of August. With the strike coming Sept15, I might get lucky. I can't get over why Ford won't take my money?
  9. Thanks for the info. They are taking away the massage seats from the platinum I ordered so that was the last straw - if it even gets built. And if it gets built, it will be a 2023 being delivered at end of the year at best. People on the Ford sites are all giddy now that Ford is taking orders for 2024. What proof do I have that next year Ford will get there problems fixed?
  10. Way north of you. Ohio. Thanks for the offer though. I'm actually looking forward to it. Should be able to handle anything I throw at it. Not quite as heavy but closeenough. And the ride has to be smoother!
  11. It rides like a brick. I had a f350 dually before this and it rode somewhat better. The more weight on the truck the better. I'm going into this blind. No one has a3500 dually to test drive. Crazy times
  12. I also had Chevy trucks from 1995-2008. Obama took over and couldn't find a Chevy so started buying Ford's. Now the situation is reversed. I'm not brand loyal but I was used to how Ford's worked; cameras, turning, towing, etc. I thought about dodge but around here all I see is rusted out trucks from them. Every day with no info from Ford is another mail in their coffin. If I did order another Ford, who's to say that would be built?I just don't see the plan - or I do and they are trying to force electric down our throats
  13. Thanks for the responses. Some reasons for the switch, in addition to not making the truck, are options disappearing from my truck. Massage seats, heated steering wheel, etc. I call it a platinum light. Turn radius is very nice and I will miss it. Makes a difference sometime. i can get the GMC for fleet pricing, which is $8000 off msrp. I also ordered a Chevy high country and that is 60 days away. I said I would never order multiple trucks, I just need one, but that went out the window after 9 months of waiting.
  14. Coming from aF450. I actually have another 450 on order but it's been 9 months. Started doing research because it looks like Ford may never make my truck. Still a little up in the air but 90% leaning towards gm. Have a3500 GMC ultimate Denali on order and lookslike 60 days out. What will I like or dislike? Some cons: Smaller tank Bigger turn radius Lighter tow ratings Lower hp and torque Some pros: Hopefully nicer ride Better interior Nicer tech
