  1. 2014 sierra 5.3. Went on a small trip yesterday (1 hour) came back home today and didn’t notice anything weird. Went to the gas station and came back home and fans stayed on after I killed the truck. I thought it was weird but shrugged it off. Later took a trip to the store and I don’t think it did it again, but when I was coming back home I got a notification that my ac was going to be shut off due to engine overheating. So I looked at the gauge and sure enough it’s above 260. So, I pull over and sit. Fans running, I pop the hood and everything seems normal and can be, coolant same level as the day I filled it up. Had a check engine light but no reader, so I let the temp go back down to operating temp and drove back home (less than a mile), and it wanted to start overheating again but got home before it did. So, that brings me here. Also, I’m not sure how important this is but… About 2 months ago I was leaking coolant really bad and found that the reservoir had been cracked at the bottom. Ok, easy fix. Took the air box off and disconnected the MAF sensor to get to the bolts. Somewhere in the process the MAF sensor got coolant into the wiring I believe because after I was done installing the new reservoir, I turned the truck on and the fans were on overdrive. I cleared the code and all was fine I figured it had dried out by now. The other day I had to change a headlight bulb. Took the air box out once again disconnecting the sensor and it did run the fans in overdrive and give me a check engine light. So I cleared the code, went on the trip mentioned above and all was great. any ideas?
