  1. Dealer told me in a nice way wouldn't hurt his feelings if I took it elsewhere. I would have it towed to another dealer if GM would cover current dealers time and trouble..
  2. I got out of the business in 2014., 16 years prior to that GM I agree, you get what they send but the manufacturer would take care of customer back in the day, especially under new car bumper to bumper warranty. Obviously things have changed but I may have made the mistake of taking my vehicle to a smaller dealer that's been in business 60 years but grandfathered in, perhaps bigger dealers get priority now for its customers? I chose the smaller local dealer because of convenience. Having my own business hard to get away into the city.. Anyways, it's a sore subject. I missed my older boys growing up working 60-70 hours a week promoting GM Chevy Cadillac Buick GMC Pontiac Oldsmobile and here I am Personally buying a new vehicle is the worst investment you can make yet I contributed and here we are, broke down and no parts under warranty, did not imagine this would be a problem.. I am going to check my shoe manufacturer to see if they have any warranty on my shoes since I'm walking..
  3. How it works, do you know? My family owned a Chevy store for over 45 years and I worked 16 years selling over 5000 new and used GM vehicles, best believe I earned my stripes and am very familiar with the laws on both sides of the coin. I guess what I don't understand is what has changed the past 10 years, Seems like it's went backwards..
  4. Update on my vehicle 7 weeks and counting. Dealership last week felt a decision to install a new transmission would be approved by GM but GM denied. Back to square one waiting on a Valve body with no ETA in sight. To make things worse, dealer has taken the loaner away because GM won't compensate. It's been near two months with two truck payments and insurance and now I am walking with a vehicle sitting in the shop with 17k miles..I understand things happen but this company could care less about it's customers. Technically speaking, the manufacturer is paid once the new vehicles are dropped off at the dealership so who cares, they have there money..
  5. Talked to my dealer today and they have fought with GM and expect a decision to be made to put a new transmission in and get back me back on the road.
  6. It's criminal, I am in the same boat, two months already with no ETA in sig My dealership has a new transmission with the new part in stock for over 6 weeks now ready to install but GM says no, wait on a part with not ETA in sight and hope it works...
  7. I have had to cancel a Family Vacation to the Outer Banks NC and not having a truck this summer kind of defeats the purpose of it all. My 21 TB has a 6.2 with 17k miles. It's bad enough GM can't keep supply the parts, just as bad it's a bad part or design to begin with.... I am ready for this nightmare to be over, never imagined something like this would take so long with still no ETA in sight...
  8. My timeline is very similar to yours, truck has been at the dealership since May 11th. I was initially told it was a transmission, dealer found a transmission and had it shipped in two days out of Cincinatti. Dealer was ready to install but GM said no, try the VALVE BODY first which is of course on National Back order no ETA. If the Valve Body ever does arrive and it does not work, then it's a new transmission. I could have had my truck back by May 2oth yet it's June 25th and no resolution in sight...
  9. My vehicle is a 21 TB 6.2 10 speed with 17k miles. It is clear that customer care will only give you the run around and deflect. Unfortunately the more you complain, the more you get black balled and moved to the back of the line.
  10. This is a nightmare.... At this point maybe a buy back should be looked at..
  11. My dealership has a new transmission in stock while I wait on a Part with no ETA that may not even fix the problem, i would need a new transmission anyways. I can't understand why A. Install the new transmission and get me back on the road or B. Take out the Valve Body in the new transmission in stock and use it on my truck then send it back to resold and REMANUFACTURED?
  12. I have followed this process over 6 weeks now and it's been nothing but a complete run around, no one knows what is going on at GM. From one advisor to the Part advisor to no end in sight, Part advisor doesn't understand why the district manager has not approved the transmission to be replaced and have me back on the road. Part is on National backorder with no ETA in sight almost 7 weeks now. Dealer has a new TRANSMISSION ready to install now for over a month, GM will not approve, no guarantee the Valve Body will fix my vehicle even if the part does come available, will need a new transmission anyways. Two months of monthly payments and insurance have already had to cancel the family vacation, this has been a nightmare. I would have never imagined a truck under new vehicle warranty 17k miles would be sitting at a dealership waiting on a part with no ETA in sight, it's not like we are driving Lambo's and Bugatti's.....
  13. I am in the same boat as you. My dealership has had the new transmission ready to install for 6 weeks now but GM says no, would rather me wait on a Valve Body Part with no ETA in sight. This is flat out criminal for a truck under factory new car warranty coverage with 17k miles.
  14. Has Ford or Dodge had problems getting truck parts? Actually looked at a loaded Ford Lariat and a Dodge TRX yesterday. Having my 17k mile truck in the shop for 7 weeks now waiting on a part with no ETA is frustrating to say the least. My wife was wanting to trade her Gmc Denali in for another one but not sure we will be going the GM route this time around which furiates me, have owned 17 GM vehicles ever since I started driving 34 years ago.... Hopefully this week the GM District Manager will contact my Dealership and approve the Transmission install so i can get back on the road. My Dealership has had a transmission in stock for over a month ready to install but GM has refused. If my transmission is good but the valve body is bad, why can't the dealer just send my 17k mile transmission back to Detroit and have GM install a new Valve Body then refurbish and resell??
  15. I am going to check with the dealer again on Wednesday, coming up on 7 weeks with no ETA in sight.
