I have a 2019 5.3L. I bought it used with about 90k miles in it back in February of this year (2024). After about 2 weeks from the time I bought it, the loud downshifting clunk occurred. 2 to 1st gear when coming to an almost complete stop. I didn’t get any kind of warranty when I bought the truck so I was pretty frustrated. It has been 5 months and it still does the clunk. Seems as though it is sporadic. Some days it clunks, some days it’s smooth. This thread is the first good information I’ve seen about the issue. Wondering if anyone has a solidified diagnostic on why it happens? Can it be completely solved? How much money does it cost to repair, if possible? I really like the truck but hate the clunk. Thanks.
