  1. Update: Figured it out... kinda... It could be one of the two things I did. Either way, the noise is gone. This truck originally had a BOSS plow mount on it. When I removed it, it made use of the tow hook locations. But they were longer to compensate - so when I took the plow mount off the bolt ran out of thread before it was tight and rattled. Somehow that resonates up into the cab. That said - I also did look around the transmission for anything that could rattle and found only some of those heat shields that were a bit flappy, i bent them slightly to stiffen them up. Needless to say - one or both of these led to the rattle going away. I doubt very much anyone else would have this situation but hey you never know.
  2. Update: Had someone put their head closer while I was driving and they think it's actually coming from below my feet. Going to look for something under the truck now... I read someone once saying there was something hitting the transmission bell housing? I'll see what I can find.
  3. You mean the bolt that holds the overflow reservoir? (The one in the back right of this photo below) I did take a quick look and the 10mm bolt was loose, took it for a drive - same noise. It sounds like it's more in the dash than the engine compartment.
  4. Hey guys - I've followed some of the other threads on noises around the steering column... related to that intermediate shaft - but I don't think mine is the same. Theirs seem to be more clunks when turning etc - mine is more of a rattle sound. This happens: from 30-60mph or so even when going dead straight (unaffected by turning) Isn't HVAC - as if i turn off the fans it doesn't stop. Isn't affected by moving the steering wheel position up/down, in/out. I don't see anything loose underneath. It happens when I'm on or off the gas as well, and doesn't change dramatically in frequency based on speed. The dealer just had it for a day and had part of the dash opened up and couldn't find the culprit. They expect to see me bring it back but I thought I'd check if anyone else has seen/heard of this... I swear i found someone in the other thread that had a loose bolt/nut on something deep in the dash for a vent or something? Any ideas guys? (Video below)
