  1. The door handles snapped off in the cold?!?! Wow, no thanks. I want no part of that kind of cold.
  2. I just got a 2014 Silverado WT Double Cab 4x4 two weeks ago. Its my work truck and only has 23K miles on it. I absolutely love it so far. It gets lots of highway miles and a few hard lease road oilfield miles. It's been a couple of years since I drove a truck. Last truck was a 2011 Silverado 6.2L 4x4. But man this truck drives good!

  5. I've been a member since February 2008 and I'd say newbies are treated rather well here. It's pretty bad on other forums I've seen. I also like the distribution of the 2014 forum. Easy to find info for members like me that do lots more reading than posting (as you can see from my post count after 6 years).

  8. To the few that are calling the new 5.3l a complete dog, I just don't get it. I currently drive a 2011 6.2l. I have taken a test drive in a 2014 5.3l on multiple occasions. It has really good low end torque compared to the previous 5.3l (I previously had a 2008 5.3l). I am very satisfied with the response on the new 5.3l, and that's coming from someone who loves their 6.2l and gets on it some. Not saying the new 5.3l is equal at all, but it's not absolutely terrible. I just don't understand what some people were expecting from it because I was impressed. I'll probably go 5.3l when the 2015s come out., but I need a little better mileage and don't need the extra power anymore. Didn't mean to get off subject. But I'm sure I'll miss my 6.2l some......
  9. I've got a 17 month old myself. The first one is scary, surprising, amazing, funny, stressful, etc. etc. So many new things to experience! And it's all awesome no matter what!! Good luck to you on this new journey. I'm thinking our second (and final) kiddo will probably arrive in another year or so. I hope to slip into a 2015 All Terrain before that one gets here.
  10. Yes, it is the supplier discount. I am eligible through my employer and can also get it for friends/family. Go to www.gmsupplierdiscount.com. You can build vehicles and search vehicles currently on lots and see exactly what the GM supplier pricing is. You should be able to find and price the exact vehicles the dealers are already quoting you on.
  11. How is the low end torque on the new 6.2 compared to the new 5.3? Noticeable difference or not? I personally thought the new 5.3 felt very close to my 2011 6.2 on the low end. I don't really even tow casually anymore, so thinking about going back to the 5.3 next year.
  12. Are those the tires that came on it new, Rich? If so, what are they? And how does the Bose system sound in the new trucks? There were a good many complaints about the Bose in the previous few model years (at least that I've read in the Audio section). Never had it in any of my trucks. I've only driven LTs with aftermarket systems.
