Do you know if you can order the part for a 09 trailblazer/envoy and install it in a 06 sierra? Also do you know anything about upgrading an 08 Equinox to bluetooth? I would assume the same process but I don't know where to find part numbers. Also on your new bluetooth onstar unit it has 3 antenna plugs? What does the bluetooth antenna look like? Thanks i know the module is different between envoy and sierra. do not know if you can do the same with an equinox, you might have to be the first one and tell the rest of us how it worked out for you. the bluetooth antenna is about the
I dont think you can get the 25984444 module number any more. it was just the first module with bluetooth part number but within a few months after the 09 models came out they changed to this newer module number. I am wondering if it would work a little better as far as keeping your onstar since JTS1469 said both lights on his mirror are green. when we ordered the modules at our dealer we could only get the newer modules so I have not tried to install the 25984444 module. that might be the lucky part number to get this all working properly, maybe that is what they changed with the new part so
Did you order the part numbers from the earlier pages OR are the items the OEMPARTSTODAY.COM sent you different? The module they sent me after going thru some back and forth calls and giving my vin#was 25984444 the original that was in the truck from the factory was 25984445. I think there are a few modules that are the same just different numbers from GM? Lee, I was also wondering how you made out with the customer that had the problem after a few months. Just curious what the end result was.. Thanks, JTS I was wondering if you one light on you rearview mirror is red or a

your module should have 3 connectors, 2 for the 2 antenna wires and 1 for the bluetooth antenna. the antenna actually goes on the middle lower and the 2 antenna wires that are already there plug in also
they sent you the antenna too i hope
if it has bluetooth it will work fine, you will be able to use bluetooth but one of the green lights will be red on your mirror. once we get the programming problem figured out then you can go get it programmed. I would not worry about the memo function unless you want memo.
thanks to everyone for being understanding on this. talked with a nice guy at GM tech assistance and he said that he is pretty sure GM is going to come out with a kit to upgrade your 07 and 08 trucks to bluetooth. maybe that is why they dont want us doing it ourselves. I will keep you up to date with what I am finding out.
seems GM is figuring this out as fast as we are. making it difficult to program new modules, you have to call in and give them the new module info and then they say your truck is not supposed to have it and wont let you program it. looks like they are saying if you can find a module and install it you will not have onstar but your bluetooth will work. customer that I had installed one in came in today and said it worked good for 3 months then all of a sudden today the red light came on and his onstar is no longer working. seems onstar ran a vehicle system check and found the module part number
you need steering wheel controls to start and stop phone calls
the only good thing I can see about this is that each day that passes there is more of a chance of finding one used from a salvage yard. the first one I tried on my own pickup I bought used from ebay for $65 so it cost me just over a $100 to add blue tooth to my truck. but I havent been able to find onother one since. remember the VCIM is the same in acadia, enclave, tahoe, suburban, yukon, yukon xl, sierra and silverado. maybe we can slowly add blue tooth to all your trucks and end up saving you same money in the process
BAD news for the VCIM. my parts guy tried to order more today and GM will not just sell them any more. we must have just been lucky when we ordered ours. now to order one from GM you will have to supply an 09 vin and can only be ordered for reasons of crash, theft, or fire. if you want to just buy one it will be an exchange basis only with like a $1000.00 core. I think all we can do now is try to find used.
I dont think the vcim is the same between the trucks and cars, you can check with a parts person just to be sure
you will need a new vcim if you dont have bluetooth, there are 2 part numbers for the vcim for 09 one w/ bluetooth and one w/o bluetooth. the switch is the exact same except for pictures of the phone. you do not need onstar service for your bluetooth to work. also remember the 2 options your truck must have in order for bluetooth is onstar and steering wheel controls. 07crewsierra, Have you done this on your own 07? Can you answer some of the questions about some of the guys having problems ordering them? Did you have to supply an 09 VIN? I really want to do this, but I have to know
