  1. I am putting the 4 piston calipers on my GMT800 (2000 GMC). The offset on my 2005 17" OEM wheels is not enough and I would need spacers, new wheel studs, etc. Will any and all 2019+ 18" OEM Chevrolet/GMC full size truck wheels have the proper offset? I don't want to go bigger than 18" and there are several 2021-2022 sets for sale in my area with tires, ready to go! Will they fit without spacers, longer studs, etc? Here is an example of the wheel type available near me: https://midwestwheelandtire.com/product/chevrolet-silverado-2019-2020-2021-gmc-sierra-2019-2020-23376217-5912s-5912-alloy-wheel-rim?campaign=*PMax%3A GMC - JF&c=1922285656&matchtype=&keyword=&network=x&gclid=CjwKCAiAxvGfBhB-EiwAMPakqv4zwQq4ksFYqHO3fh5sk7OCDDewnp-YlHhh7uelJF-PajduJYp5vhoCEYUQAvD_BwE
  2. If you live anywhere near the Washington, DC metro area, I will pay you local dealership rate of $165 per hr x 0.75 hr labor to come knock this out for me! ?
  3. It looks like the Walbro pumps would require a decent amount of modification to make them work in my 2000 Yukon (in tank fuel pump). They don't have line in/line out and I don't beleive they have a built in float for my fuel guage. That is in addition to wiring a custom electrical harness or adapters. I much appreciate the suggestion and chime in though. I should have emphasized "plug n' play".
  4. I don't know what else to tell you except talk to any die hard GM truck person and they'll tell you about these fuel pump issues. You're just being a troll at this point.
  5. Definitely leaning towards Delphi, thanks for chiming in. I like the fact they offer a lifetime warranty too.
  6. Negative...If you read all of my replies, I have not struck down a single brand suggestion with the exception of AC Delco because they were the pumps which have all failed me. The only people I hit back on were the completely unhelpful comments telling me to not let me tank run dry. Cool...Super...That doesn't help me choose a new fuel pump.
  7. Fully aware of all of this. I'm looking for experience and knowledge on the best brand for a replacement pump on a 2000 GMC.
  8. Fully aware of all of this. Looking for experience and knowledge on the best brand for replacement.
  9. Seriously? There are 100s of posts about GM truck fuel pumps spanning 2 decades. It's a well known problem. I just couldn't find a post referencing replacement brands. Go to YouTube and look at just how many "How to replace fuel pump" videos there are for GM trucks. Far more than any other vehicle on the road. My truck is a 2000 with 217k and it is currently on it's 3rd fuel pump and possibly looking to see its 4th.
  10. Top Tier (https://www.toptiergas.com/)has to do with gasoline quality, not octane level. I use 87 octaine.
  11. I wasn't looking for a guarantee. I was looking for persons with knowledge on these fuel pumps who could point me in the right direction as far as the best brand for reliability and longevity.
  12. Guys, I'm fully aware of the fact that I should not let the tank run empty. I have owned countless vehicles in my life and this is the only vehicle that has ever had to have a fuel pump replaced once let alone twice. There is an inherent design flaw with these pumps. Now, does anyone have any recommendations on which brand to choose so that I never have to do this again?
  13. I will not go with AC Delco pump as I'm currently on my 3rd one and they definitely did not last 150k each. I only use Top Tier gas too. So frustrating.
  14. I may need to replace the fuel pump, testing it today. I see there are several brand options out there. I was leaning towards the Delphi as it has a lifetime warranty. Is there one brand/part number which has proven itself? Mine is on it's 3rd pump and I'd prefer not to do this again! ***Seriously guys, telling me not to run my tank empty is NOT helpful. I'm already aware off this fact. Please only reply to this thread if you have knowledge or experience on which fuel pump brand is the best and most reliable for a 2000 Yukon.***
  15. I have a 2000 GMC Yukon XL 1500. Like many, I was plagued with all my lights flickering or pulsating at seemingly random times (headlights, dash lights, interior lights, etc). The flickering was ever so slight making you question your sanity as if it was even actually happening. Those who have experienced this know exactly what I'm talking about! Ha! I scoured the web for a solution and it seemed that guys would replace their alternator and the problem would go away. This was unacceptable to me as my battery is old and was getting charged just fine by my alternator so I knew the alternator was at least partially functioning. The real problem as it turns out was the voltage regulator inside the alternator as the factory ones are weak. This was an easy and inexpensive fix. Taditel and Transpo both make redesigned heavy duty voltage regulators for the factory AD244 130 amp alternator for under $20. These are better regulators than factory and better than the ones installed on new, rebuilt or remanufacturered alternators (unless purchased from a performance shop). The new regulators have a different appearance but fit as factory. The alternator itself is very easy to remove from the truck and the back of it is plastic comes off with the simple prying of a screwdriver. There are some YouTube videos showing you how to rebuild this exact alternator which you can watch just to see how they remove and reinstall the regulator. You need an E5 Torx socket and a small soldering gun with accessories to remove and reinstall the new and better regulator. You can also replace the brushes while you're in there as it only requires a screwdriver and the brushes are about $5. The whole process including removal and reinstalling of the alternator, took about 1.5 hours and cost less than $20. A high quality remanufacturered alternator was around $75 + core charge and it would have come with the same old style voltage regulator which would eventually burn out before the alternator itself. Problem solved! No more flickering or pulsating lights! Wahoo!
