  1. I can't compare the 6.7 never had one but I had a 5.3L and pulled my 6000lb camper with it to Nova Scotia and got 7-8mpg at the best of times and that was driving 60-65mph. So I traded it in on a new 3.0L and took my camper out west to Wyoming then down to I-10 and home. If i watched my speed I'd get 13-14 MPG but most of the time I just drove the posted speed and still got better than the gaser at 10-12mpg and that was doing 75 most of the time. And when not pulling the trailer I'd get 29-30mpg. For me the choice was easy, just depends on what you want your vehicle to do.
  2. I have a 2024 GMC Sierra Elevation with the 5.3L but I got an email offering a good deal on a 2025 Sierra so I called and they have two 25 Sierra AT4's but both have the 3.0L diesel. I thought at first I wanted to go diesel but now I'm having second thoughts. I travel camp the entire summers and thought the 3.0 would be better for towing but after talking to a couple who a 3.0 I'm not sure I'd be better off with the 3.0 as opposed to the 5.3. Anyone have any real live experience towing withe 3.0 DuraMax? If you had it to do again would or would you choose a different engine? Thanks
  3. Hi guys, Just something I found a little strange and I'm not sure why GM did this way. I had a 2019 Ford Mustang GT that I traded in for my 2024 GMC Sierra. Both have the 10Speed transmission. The difference that I find I don't like on this one is I have to be in Low to use the paddles to shift. In the GT I could shift in Drive or Sport. Don't remember it having a Low. The only difference in Sport and Drive was in Drive it would shift itself if the RMP's got to high while in Sport it would not shift unless you made it. I find I liked that better than having to shift to Low to use the paddles. Just me two cents.
  4. I have a 2024 Sierra 1500 5.3L 10speed with 3.23 rearend and I pull a 6000 lb camping trailer. My last trip was from north Florida where I live up to Ohio then up to Halifax Nova Scotia, CA and back. My camper was pretty loaded down so I assume my weight was close to 9k with what I had in the bed. And your milage was pretty close to what I was seeing.
  5. Just wanted to say hello. Was a Ford person but since I couldn't find what I wanted I went back to GMC and found a great truck and got a super deal. So Hi. I keep trying to finish my profile but it never takes. I assume I'm doing something wrong but I have no clue what. Anyway happy to be here. Thanks for having me. Rex
  6. Okay I am familiar with the OBD2. And I am following what you are saying. Thanks I’ll see about ordering a hardwire kit from Rexing.
  7. I’m sorry you are way over my head. I don’t know where or what the OBD2 port is. But I’ll look into it. When I bought the camera it did come with a hardwire kit but that was years ago. I’m sure I could buy another but it isn’t something I’d happily get into.
  8. I just purchased my first Sierra since 2012 and I use a front camera ever since some girl ran a red light and totaled my Rubicon at the time. I also sometimes use a radar detector and plan to use a USB Memory stick for music once my free SiriusXM is over. So I was wondering if anyone else has used a USB hub and if they work okay to power accessories? Thanks in advance. Rex
