  1. Keep telling yourselves that
  2. whole switch. Surprised that the lights are going out though, I would have thought that they were LED or something.
  3. I do not believe Carfax is specific as to what kind of repairs are done, though they do sometimes reflect oil changes. Also your assuming there is a high number of trucks out there that have an oil consumption issue. This is not the case. if it were the media would be all over it. I don't see it hurting the resale value of the brand overall.
  4. Quite honestly, I don't think the oil consumption is going to be all that big of a deal when it comes to resale. I predict GM to continue to have higher resale values than Ford and Dodge just like they have in the past. GM already says using 1 quart of oil every 1500-2000 miles is normal and that is the industry standard for many vehicles from what I have been told. If it were really as big of an issue as people try to make it out to be on here, there would be more media attention.
  5. All vehicles burn oil, some just do it a bit more than others.
  6. Well I don't think the 5.3L will be around after another 2 years or so, rumor has it she is going to be replaced with a nice replacement, direct injection.
  7. Don't keep the truck past 100,000 miles. Get a 6.0 or 6.2L instead.
  8. Have you been reading about the problems the Tundra's are having over on tundratalk.com? You may want to consider a Nissan instead LOL
  9. Ditto. In fact most oil additives won't even blend with the oil.
  10. exactly. Shows that you on your end are trying to do everything you can to comply.
  11. What they are going to do won't help but let them do it anyway.
  12. EXACTLY. You may see what you think should BE a light on the dash but there is no light behind it, there is no socket in the dash for that light. The only light is on the switch itself.
  13. The GMT 800s and 900s did not have lights in the dash, only on the switch, with the exception of the W/T models with the manual 4X4 lever on the floorboard, those had lights in the dashes.
  14. Here is what a bunch of us did a few years back: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M9zzPDK6sT4 http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/index.php?...oto+Engineering
