I’ve got a 1995 GMC Sierra 5.7L. I was at the gas station yesterday and as I turned the key, the starter was engaging and doing its thing however it wouldn’t turn over. You can hear the truck trying to start yet you have to give it gas (pressure on the accelerator) in order for it to fire up. After getting the engine to run, it has a rough idle. I can hear the fuel pump whine/hum, and I’m getting fuel pressure through the fuel filter. I have also recently replaced the distributor and spark plugs recently. Any ideas, tips, or pointers?

Will a 1997 K1500 Instrument Cluster Work in a 1995 K1500?
Noah E posted a question in Ask the GM Technician
I purchased a 1995 Chevy K1500 Silverado 5.7 V8 350 Z71 as a project a couple months back. I noticed that the lights and a couple of the gauges don't work on the cluster. The Tach and Speedometer work, the odometer and temp. gauge don't. The rest I am unsure of. When I took the instrument cluster out, I noticed that it came out of a 97' C/K 1500 Truck. I've heard that the 95's were a switchover year and the only year that had the one specific cluster. My question is will the 97 cluster work if I got the parts to fix it, or will I need to go ahead and find one for the 95? My guess would be to find one that came off another 95 since it was a TBI engine and the 97's had the Vortec engines. I just want to be sure before I spend money on a whole cluster. Help will be appreciated! Thanks! -

Good afternoon all, I'll try to make this short and sweet so here's the deal: 1) Gauge Coolant Temp wont respond. 2) I have done the necessary test with the coolant SENDING unit. (Ground out to see if it pegs hot) 3) Used Voltmeter to check for signal to sensor which it has. 4) Checked Fuses. All are good. 5) Rest of gauges work. And here's where I'm stuck. Apparently the 1995's don't use stepper motors? (I haven't taken the cluster apart yet) But if they do, I cant find the right ones. Seem to be for 1996 or 1997 and up models. This cluster does not have a conventional pigtail that plugs into it but rather the cluster "sinks" into the adapter. The circuit board is flexible. Does anyone have any info on this type of cluster? If its a simple stepper motor or resistor I can fix it. (I think, lol) However, rather than replace with a refurbished or used one where the mileage will not be correct I'd rather upgrade to a digital cluster if possible or even swap in a later model chevy cluster. Anyone know if this is possible? One thing ive found out with the 95's is that it isn't very compatible with other models. Please ask any questions that you may have. I look forward to your responses!

I have a 1995 c1500 silverado that has a 5"7-" drop on it and am tired of it - so I'm going the other way Ideally what I'm looking for are pics of all 3 - LOWERED, LIFTED and STOCK Rear hangers - so I can tell what I currently have and determine if I need to replace those while trying to life my truck up. I'm kinda thinking they weren't swapped, but I don't know 100% and need to - and pictures are the only way I can determine that at this point in time. I'm shooting for a 4" rear and 6" front lift and if I have lowered rear hangers/shackles - I'm obviously going to need to replace them - but I don't want to spend mooney on parts that I probably can't return especially if I don't actually need them - problem is, I have no idea since I didn't wind up lowering the rear myself I have no idea what was done aside from flipping the differential over and putting it on top of the springs! anyone got a few minutes to snap a pic of your rear hangers so I can compare notes ? Much appreciated

So My inquiry is about GMC or Chevrolet 1500 regular cab no extended box. I want to know if there is a difference body wise, like height of the cab, the width of the truck, and overall look, between say 1992 -1998. Does anyone know the dates in which they have made substantial changes in the look of the trucks. for example I know the later you get in years the more rounded the trucks get. As opposed to the older square style. But is there anything else? and is there a difference body wise in the Z71 and the regular 4X4's
