I have a 2017 Four Wheel Drive Sierra with the Max Trailering Package and the 6.2L engine. I tow a 34' Airstream travel trailer (9,000 pounds loaded and about 1,000 pound tongue weight) and I get a good deal of porpoising on some washboard type roads. I have a Hensley Arrow Equalizer hitch with 1,000 pound spring bars. Also, I consider the truck under damped even when I'm not towing. I'm considering upgrading to the Bilstein 4600 series shocks F & R. Does anyone have a similar experience with this situation or the Bilstein 4600 shocks. I installed these shocks on my 1992 Suburban many years ago and I was very happy with the results.

Finally took delivery today of my 2017 CCSB 6.2 max tow. Ordered it back late October and Chevy picked up the order Nov 3, Other than being a little slow it was uneventful until it was built and shipped. Trying to track it for more than a month I finally got a call from my buddy who is my salesman saying this was going to be the weirdest conversation he had ever had to have. He indicated GM had notified the dealership that there had been a partial train derailment and that my truck had made it to Michigan but was being held for a quality control inspection. I did a little Googling and did end up finding out the train was hit by a tornado in Thrall Tx and it derailed 12 autoracks . My salesman said their dealership had 3 vehicles that GM ended up buying back as they were damaged. I got lucky and mine had no issues. Couple shots of it at the dealer next to the 14 6.2 max to it replaced and one after I got back at my shop. Just got done installing the fold a cover and hope to swap out the factory rubber with some Cooper Zeons in the next few days

This is my 1st post. But I did plenty of research on here before deciding to buy my 2016 Sierra. Bottom Line: 2016 1500 5.3 3.42 8sp Sierra with the Max Trailering Package tows my 8,500 lb boat/trailer combo better than my old 2006 2500HD 6.0 4.10 The 8 speed is great for towing and seems to have a "sweet spot" at any speed for towing. This truck is better at pulling in every aspect hands down. The only down sides are it sags a bit more in the rear due to less payload and the brakes aren't as good, however this is not a problem since my trailer has great brakes. I drive my truck as a daily driver and I was sick and tired of the 11mpg of my 2006 2500HD ext. cab 4x4 6.0 with 4.10 gears. Not only does my new truck tow better, it gets 19-20mpg around town. The new truck has truly been a win win for me. Please let me know if you have any questions and I would be happy to answer them. Anyone on the fence between a 2500 and a 1500 should really consider the 1500 Max Trailering Package.

First code is OE18999 and below that 23156075 with AAZJ Second code is OE22050 and below that is 23156076 with AAZK Any help would be appreciated...thanks!

Truck has 38xxx km... Was headed out to Jasper, AB to go snowboarding this weekend. I checked the oil before i left too, made sure it was full. Prob 3k since last oil change. 4 of us loaded up headed there in -30*C. Truck started making ticking noises between Edson and Hinton, which got louder(within 2mins) as i slowly watched the oil pressure drop. Pulled over, and shut the truck off. Smelled burnt oil as soon as i hopped out... I popped the hood and checked the oil, none left. Whole bottom of my truck was covered in oil. Ended up getting towed to a dealership in Edson, AB. Bannister GM. They looked at it today. I talked to their service rep and she said they couldn't find where the oil exploded from. But then said they ran a dye test and the filter had a small leak? I looked underneath while waiting in the freezing cold for the tow truck, and the filter was completely dry, as was the drain plug. So how does all my oil leak out of the filter??? She then proceeded to tell me there is definite engine damage and since I didn't use an AC Delco oil filter that any work would NOT be under warranty. WTF I change the oil myself every 5000-6000km(even though it's said synthetic will last over 10000km). I've used all dexos approved oil, either Mobil 1 or Castrol syntec full synthetic. I've used AC Delco, K&N, fram synthetic filters. Everything is documented in my owners manual and have reciepts at home. Truck has never burned any oil either. Every oil change the level on the dipstick is the same as when I put fresh stuff in. I take pride in knowing how to do maintainence on a damn vehicle, have been my whole life. Easy stuff like oil changes, air filters, plugs, wires, etc... to pulling engines, swapping trannies, transfer cases, clutches, all that shit. But blaming an oil filter that's been fine for over 3000kms prior... REALLY GM? She asked if the service manager can call me as he wants to talk. I said yes, i want to talk to him as well! I'm still waiting for a phone call.... Anyone have any thoughts here? Not impressed right now!
