New to this whole forum thing so let's just get down to business. I have a 2015 Silverado 1500 with the L83 5.3L currently I have an Edelbrock E-Force 2300 stage 1 supercharger and Borla atak cat back exhaust. I have been researching all over and for the right camshaft size for my application (1/4 mile/street) and haven't really gotten anywhere. what Camshafts are performing well in these SIDI engines with superchargers? I'm aware that I would need stronger valves, springs, and most likely rods, I've heard great things from Texas speed and Comp Cams but I am not partial to either. once I do the Camswap I will also be looking into a smaller pulley and new injectors which I will also need feedback for. I'm currently running the SCT tune that came with the kit from Edelbrock but I'm sure it will not be adequate once I put in the new cams, smaller pulley, and injectors. ANY INPUT WILL HELP!!!!

Ive got a 2007 silverado classic with a 4.8l in it. I got afe cold air, gibson longtube headers, stock cats, dynoflow 3 inch cat back exhaust, and edge cts2 gas programmer. I pull a 4500 pound trailer at least once a month and need more power. I keep getting told to put a cam in to make more power but the truck has 250000km on it. Not dropping a 6.0l in it because people on kijiji are on crack I mean im running premium, changing synthetic oil every 5000km, babying this truck, so is a cam worth it? If so whats the best cam i can put in without changing valves and all that fun stuff? If i put one in a motor with so many miles on it am i risking blowing the motor or tranny? Thanks

I have a stock 2008 Silveardo Crew cab LT, with a 5.3l motor. Truck is currently getting a used motor installed in it due to knocking, oil pressure, and oil lose (fun right). Well once I get a new motor (used) with 50k miles on it I was planning on dropping like 3k of parts into it to make it faster. My only concern is my transmission, will it hold up? Upgrades: Cams Headers Intake Injectors exhaust Tune All on a stock tranny, is this possible or will this be a quick way to find my truck in the shop?

Hi everyone, New to this site and I'm already reading and learning quite a bit from alot of the posts I see. I was wondering if someone would be able to help me in choosing a cam for my truck. My truck is a 2012 Silvy 1500 5.3 with 6 inch lift and Toyo M/T 275/65R20 on Rockstar II's. For performance it has an AFE Cold Air intake and EDGE CT-S tuner, gets decent mpg actually for a lifted truck. Soon to have full Borla Sport Exhaust and either JBA headers and Kooks high flow cats with eventually a supercharger (one day ) So my question is what cam would be best to run with these future upgrades minus the supercharger for now? Thanks in advance!

hi guys just to let people know the infamous lifter tic, isn't only gracing the 5.3 litters, it is alive and well in the 6.2. motor was torn down, and they believe they found a bad cam. i did inquire about a "better" cam, but they said that requires tuning and of course, the whole void your warranty thing. there was a gmt 900 5.3 having the same work done, so i wasn't alone. i am just a little pissed as my truck has 90 km's and this is an issue. i also, was under the impression that the 6.2 was bullet proof. oh well, they say the new cams and lifters are "better".....rrrrrriiiiiggghhhhhttt. positives from this...new rad fluid, new spark plugs and a fresh oil change (even though it had only about 900km on it) = some p.m. cost savings. also, they found two lines that needed replacing, the oil cooler line and ???. thank god for extended warranty as these were supposedly 700 bucks!!! cheers
