  1. My warranty recently expired on my 2015 Chevy Silverado 1500 5.3L and I was wondering if anyone could recommend a tuner for my year truck. I drive about a 100 miles a day at time and would like to get a little more mpg. I have access to 93 in my area as well. Any help is appreciated.
  2. I have 2018 Silverado LTZ Z71 with the 8 speed transmission and running a 3 inch level kit on 35s. Stock gearing is 3.42 and looking to regear the front and rear diffs. Since I went 35s I can feel the difference in how it drives and MPG. I’ve talked to many people and some say 4.56 and others say 4.10 since it’s an 8 speed transmission. I’ve read many forum threads but never one specifying gearing and how it’s different with an 8speed. Most are talking about 6 speed. Does anyone here have this set up and what gearing are you running or do you recommend ? Thanks in advance.
  3. I purchased a 2021 Silverado Crew Cab High Country 4WD about 4 months ago from Watson Chevrolet in Tucson Arizona. Within week of driving the truck I began noticing some pretty strange sporadic things happening. I started video taping the issues when I could to document what was happening. Ticking noise coming from the engine when cold starting, sporadically have hourglass on stereo saying “loading” it would continue until the engine was turned off and back on then it was OK. “Park Assist” Error message sporadically popping up while driving down the road, Horn honking (three short honks) for no reason while sitting in traffic at a red light. At 900 miles I reached out to the dealer and told them these concerns and issues I was experiencing. The service manager explain to me “the truck has a lot of technology and it just needs to learn your driving habits, you just need to keep driving it” At 11,000 and 3 months after purchasing I get the loud lifter noise, “Service parking brake”message, “steering assist reduced” message, “Service ESC light” and “check engine light” I drove it into the other dealership located in Tucson (O’Reilly Chevrolet), they keep the truck for about three weeks and “replace lifters on one bank and 1 bent push rod” and tell me that they couldn’t duplicate any of the other issues however they did a firmware upgrade and everything should be fine. One week after getting the truck back (11500 miles) I get another check engine light, Keep in mind I can still hear the lifters ticking when starting it first thing in the morning. I take back to the dealer after a week of a being in the shop, They tell me “The check engine light was because there was multiple cylinder misfire and it was the opposite bank from the lifters they replaced” however they can’t duplicate the problem so there’s nothing they can do. They admitted that the computer had logged over 200 misfires on one cylinder and that’s what made the check engine light turned on, then they go on to tell me they can’t duplicate the problem so there’s nothing they can do. I asked them about the ticking noise when starting and the tell me “that’s normal, it’s not lifter noise you’re hearing, it’s the new technology fuel pumps GM is using that’s making that noise” Other issue I have had is the rotors on all four wheels at times will turn blue and discolored as if the brakes and her have been completely overheated. But it’s not the entire rotor It’s only the center inch of all rotors. The inside edge and outside edges look normal. I have a purchased over 11 band new (Ford, Chevy, Dodge, Toyota) Trucks in the past 30 years this is by far the worst freaking vehicle I have ever purchased.
  4. I’m located in Dallas,TX. As the title states looking to trade my chrome front/rear bumpers and grille for the black painted versions. Text me at 469-888-0122
  5. I have a 2015 Silverado with a 5.3L which has about 42k miles on it. Recently I had the brake booster replaced due to oil getting within the booster. I am not sure if the P0446 code was casued by the replacement of the booster. I was recently driving around town after the brake booster was repaced and my truck threw the P0446 check engine light code. I have done some research and some people say to just replace the gas cap and that should fix it where others says they have had to replace the EVAP purge selonoids. I plan on calling the dealership where I had the brake booster replaced at first thing monday morning in order to get their opinion and a preliminary cost on troubleshooting but just trying to get an understanding before I call. I don't really want the wool to be pulled over my eyes. Any help is appreciated.
  6. Just curious if anyone has any experience with an after market cold air intake system on a 5.3l Trail Boss. Worth it? I was told by my dealership service department that an aftermarket brand would not void my warranty.
  7. Can I haul 2 full Ridgid job boxes in my 2010 Chevy 1500 WT? It's reg cab 4x4 with 5.3l V8. Also wanting to know what issues I could run into by overloading the bed
  8. Recently purchased 3.0 JLT oil catch can. As I went to install it on my Silverado I honestly didn’t really see if it would fit so I backed off to get more info. Has anyone installed a oil catch can on the 2019 Silverado? The main reason for stopping the install was that the intake has some piece on the left holding it together that i can’t seem to find a way to get loose. I loosened the clamps to the air box and Intake manifold but some weird peice on the left is still holding it together when i attempted to take the intake off.
  9. Hey guys hoping y’all could give me some insight on the custom trail boss 5.3 6 speed 3.42 gears with it’s towing if anyone has this model and tows with it let me know how it felt to y’all. I’m going to tow my buddies jeep Cherokee to His home state which is about 700 miles. Will probably go through some hills and mountains in TN. Does the the power train struggle with towing because of the 32 inch durratracs?
  10. I know this topic has come up more then anyone wants but I'm new to this and didn't find much on the newer model silverado's. So I currently have a 2015 5.3l 4x4 Silverado and ordered (but not installed yet) the mcgaughy 7-9" SS lift kit with plans on setting it to 9" .. Fuel maverick rims and 37" tires. I also order a complete master ring and pinion 4.88 kit with a Yukon duragrip clutch type posi. Is this gear ratio a good setup for what I have and plan to do? Has anyone done a similar setup or know of anyone who has? I don't want my rpm's to be at 3000 at 65mph. A few say it won't be that high and others say it will. Does the tires make the only difference or does the lift also factor in when doing a regear? The shop I'm talking to said the lift doesn't make much of a difference (saying it does but not enough to notice) and tires is where the main factor comes in. I don't want to end up putting something in that's overkill ? I have a few other questions but I'll start with this and see if I can get any help or info. Thanks
