Recently I picked up an older '92 k3500, and did a transmission swap. Sadly the transmission I got had already started going out, and with the old motor it's not worth putting more money into it for me. That being said, I'm thinking of swapping the rear end into my 02 3/4 ton. I've heard the axles are different widths, is this true? If so, could I swap the leafs and all from a long bed dually to a short bed? And one more thing- I'm driving down to California shortly to pick up a camper. Well within my 3/4's rear axle capacity. Could I swap the front wheel spacers on my dually to the current rear axle and stick the duals on? With a 16 hour total drive ahead, I'd much rather have the duals for stability in the back and protection from blowouts. Is this something that'd be safe? I'm running short on time with a sliding fiver hitch still needing to get installed, so swapping leafs and the axle before the trip would take too much time. Thanks for any input

Hello all. I'm in the market for a 1 ton truck from this generation of Chevys. There's one in particular I found somewhat locally, but I'm a bit confused. It's a 4x4 dually, 7.4ltr engine, auto tranny with under 75k miles on the dash. Upon inquiry, the seller sent me additional photos. One of the photos was a close up of the dash. Now, in my findings, the only transmissions available for the 3500 were the standard 4 speed, and the TH400 automatic. However, on the dash, the gear indicator had the 1, 2 , D, and OD (D with the circle around it). Was there another overdrive transmission offered in the 3500 series that I'm mistaken on? The other OD transmissions of the era were the 700r4 and the 2004r, but I wouldn't think they would put either of those into a heavy hauler dually pickup because those were not rated for that kind of duty. It's also my understanding that the 4l80e was not offered until some year after the 1990 model year. I haven't been able to inspect the truck in person yet so I can't check the pan to tell me for sure what's in there. If it's one of the weaker transmissions, I don't know that I want to waste time driving more than an hour away to look at it, unless my perception of those transmissions is incorrect. Anybody have any idea what I'm missing? Otherwise, I'm in this market because I'm looking for a reliable hauler for occasional work purposes, to trailer my project vehicles, and other general utility purposes. Am I on the right track with pursuing something from this lineup?

I am looking to add tire valve extensions to my 2015 GMC 3500HD dually and am not sure what type or style to purchase. I see braided stainless steel hoses with lug nut brackets, 135 degree bent extensions, and several others to choose from. What have other dually owners in the forum tried and recommend? The inside dual valve is very hard to reach through the front rim, so I am looking for something to help make this a bit easier. I have the polished aluminum wheels you can see in the photo, if that makes a difference.

I just placed my order and got the Rigid Dually's 20% off and free shipping. The restrictions say it won't work but I punch it in and it worked. Figured I would pass it on.
