Hi! So about 2 months ago my fuel pump went out. Had it replaced and right away we noticed sometimes it would crank but No start. After a few days the pump was defective, so replaced it again. Pump ran great with good pressure but after about a week or so, same issue crank but no start. Sprayed some starter in the manifold sometimes start, sometimes no. Turn key on/off to cycle and then sometimes start, sometimes no. Used the pressure valve behind the spider to bleed air/fuel then engine start fine. Would run fine for a couple days up to a week and then same thing all over again. Took it to local chevy. Diagnosed fuel pump, ... good to go they said, everything working properly. 2 days later No start and this time cannot get it to turn over, pressure is at zero. Pump is still turning on but not humming like it was. Replaced MAF and distributor cap as well as fuel filter. My local mechanic and I are stumped, and I'm already $1000 in on repairs. Please help!
My 2017 sierra 1500 5.3 V8 threw p0500 and p050d. Took truck into service and mechanic recommend replacement of all 8 fuel injectors. Every cylinder reported a history of both codes. With policy calculator, job was quoted at 1,200. Mechanic explained that injectors could be one of three potential part numbers but they could not know until they did the disassembly. One possible part number is on a 3 month back order. How is it possible they do not know the part number before the tear down??
Bad Fuel injectors on 6.0 ?
Bunky posted a topic in 2000-2014 Silverado & Sierra HDI have a 2001 2500HD wit the 6.0 engine 2wd, 133000 miles on the truck,I had to park the truck for about year and a half, I'm now wanting to get it out and drive it and it's throwing the random misfire code, (P300) I changed the spark plugs it still gives the code so I did some more checking and it appears to me the back two cylinders are not firing and I don't hear any "clicking" of those fuel injectors. I also checked and I have power and ground to the injectors. Is there a chance these just went bad or are possibly gummed up? I put a can of seafoam in the tank as well. But no luck. Is this problem happen very often? Where is a good place to get replacements?
