When the General Motors and the UAW announced a deal to end the ongoing strike last week, one of the potential settling points was a $3-billion investment in the Detroit-Hamtramck plant for future electric trucks. On Friday, Reuters reported that an all-electric pickup branded as a HUMMER could be the first product out of that investment.... https://www.gm-trucks.com/your-first-electric-pickup-may-be-a-hummer/ -------------- What do you guys think? Is this exciting? Lame? Where is GM going with the brand if they do label "Project O" as a HUMMER?

Hello, all. I have installed several sets of off road lamps (14 55w 12v lamps in total) on my H2 (Same engine set up as a 2001-2006 GM 2500/3500 Silverado/Sierra) , and notice a power draw when I have all of them on at the same time (lights dim etc). It has been recommended to me to install a more powerful alternator to compensate for the new power needs, rather than going with dual battery set up at this time. I believe the factory alternator is a 145amp Delphi. What is the power output at idle (500rpm)? I am looking at replacing it with one of two aftermarket alternators rated at 225amp and 250amp. Which would be better for my application? TIA. https://www.amazon.com/LActrical-OUTPUT-ALTERNATOR-CHEVROLET-WARRANTY/dp/B00C3RDNZC https://m.summitracing.com/parts/pwm-48237/none/images

John Goreham Contributing Writer, GM-Trucks.com 5/2/2016 Your chance to own Tupac's Hummer. Six words I never dreamed I would type in sequence. Shot in a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas in 1996, Tupac Shakur left the world too young. He also left an '96 American Motors H1 Hardtop Hummer. Note that this is not a tarted-up Suburban-style Hummer. This is the kind with the central tire inflation system our troops used all over the world for much of our recent past. The H1 has the 6.5 liter, turbo diesel V-8 engine with automatic transmission. The odometer reads 10,101 miles. This vehicle was bought by Shakur just before his death. It was in storage for a while, then it was won in a 2003 raffle organized by BET in the ‘Picture Me Rollin’’ sweepstakes. The H1 was then later purchased back in 2007 by Havenotz Entertainment owners Sardar ‘Candyman 187’ Khan and Yaasmyn Fula, the latter being the mother of the aforementioned Kadafi, a ‘godbrother’ of Shakur who lost his own life just two months after that of his friend and fellow Outlawz rapper; the pair drove the Hummer often, cruising Los Angeles on late summer nights after time spent in the studio. This according to RR Auction, who will sell the H1 on-line between May 12th and May 19th. You can place a bid and see more details at this link The H1 includes the following highlights: - 38″ Dick Cepek off-road lights - 360-degree spotlight - grille guard - diamond-plate bumpers - GC Package oversized off-road wheels and tires - external PA system with three sirens - burl wood with beige leather upholstery -12-disc Clarion sound system (remember CDs?) - Sony GPS - air conditioning - rear sliding glass window - privacy glass - 12,000-pound winch
