  1. First time poster this evening and came across this forum after searching/researching my issue online. I recently purchased a 2018 Tahoe Premier with roughly 37K miles on it. Since purchasing I have had a message of "Side Detection Is Temporarily Unavailable" on the info screen upon each start. I have also noticed my SBZA system not to be functioning. Well, after realizing this was more than a setting being turned off or computer issue, I took it into my local Chevy Service center to be inspected. I was surprised to learn of a potential costly fix without an easy work around. Basically my service center was having a difficult time diagnosing the problem at first, but came across a bulletin to check the heat staking for the brackets that attached to the rear bumper modules. They checked and found that the heat staking on my passenger side was pulled away from the bumper and on the drivers side, a bent or improperly repaired bracket. The recommended fix per the bulletin was to replace the rear bumper to correct the concern due to excessive gaping cause by heat staking being pulled away from the bumper cover fascia. Basically a new bumper cover assembly with sensors included in the assembly. This being a fairly costly repair considering the replacement of the bumper cover, additional work and labor, as well as paint. Has anyone dealt with this issue and have any suggestions or any other possible remedies. The folks at my Chevy dealership service feel the sensors can't be adjusted, fixed, or brackets fixed due to the compromising of the heat staking. Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated. I am working with the dealership I purchased the used vehicle at to correct, but trying to minimize my out of pocket if it comes to be my responsibility. Thanks in advance!
  2. I have a 2008 crew cab WT and a donor 2008 crew cab SLE I'd like all the SLE features and want to know what modules I'll need to swap without getting my BCM reprogrammed. My dealer won't do it for me. So Im ready to change all necessary modules in my truck with the donor truck including the ignition. Can you tell me if this is possible and what I'll need to do and what modules to replace? I understand they go by VIN or something. But if I get all the stuff from the donor and move it over to mine it should work without locking me out of the truck right?
  3. I have a '16 Sierra with the wireless charging module. I now have an iPhone 8 Plus and it does not charge on the pad but it will charge on a 2018 model (the newer module with 3 coils). Any chances of having GM replace the wireless module with the newer one?
  4. From the album: Service Report Log

My service report for the radio display after it was fixed. I am in no way implying that this is your vehicle's specific problem and/or solution, but I am posting this for general awareness and information purposes.
  5. Hello. I need help with something, I had an accident in my 2010 Chevrolet Silverado LT, both frontal airbags deployed, I know I have to replace them both but I wanted to know if I should buy another part so I won't see the airbag service light on my dashboard. Thank you for your help in advance.

  7. So I am all about scouring forums and finding what I need to know to fix the problem at hand. And I'm fully aware the HVAC actuator topics have been beat to death, but I haven't seen whats going on with mine described anywhere, so here goes... 2005 GMC Sierra Ext Cab, Z71, manual Dual climate controls (temp slide levers, turn dial for blower speed and mode select) Last year, i changed out the blend door actuator for the drivers side, the one over the transmission hump. No problem. Typical symptoms, heat randomly on driver side, clicking sound...easy fix. Then, in August of this year, i smelled burning plastic from the vents, looked it up and found the blower motor resistor TSB. Local dealer fixed that for free. All good. But now, something different is going on. 2 weeks ago, I got in my truck to head home and noticed the air conditioner wasn't on and my vents were blowing hot air. Tried turning on the a/c, but nothing happened when I hit the button. No light, nothing. I then realized nothing on the control unit responded at all except the blower speed. So, I went researching...best answer i could arrive at was i had a bad HVAC control module. I replaced that. No change, same thing. Back to square one. Just for clarity, here's what is happening. The only thing that responds in any way is the blower motor speed and it does work on all speeds, so I don't think this is related to the resistor...I don't think? The A/C, Recirculation and Rear defrost buttons all are unresponsive (no lights, no function). The air is coming from my dash vents, blowing hot on driver side and just outside temperature air on passenger side. Even if I turn the blower off, when driving, the air still moves through the vents (unforced, blower is off) at the hot and room temps as I just mentioned. I was able to unplug the mode door actuator, manually move the mode door to defrost and feet, so that provides a little relief from the hot air blowing in my face. However, if I plug it back in, as soon as it gets power, it automatically indexes back to the dash vent position. Someone please help and tell me you have some idea of what to do. I don't want to take it to a dealer, but I am running out of options and none of the local part stores have a scanner that can read body/HVAC codes. Or if someone has a schematic of the HVAC wiring/could help me figure out how to diagnose the issue by checking voltages over on the passenger side panel where all the actuator wiring joins. Any help is appreciated!
  8. For sale a module to upgrade your gm truck 2014+ with navigation and weather app. I bought it for my 2014 GMC Sierra without the navigation and GM bought my truck back and I remove the module before the buy back. I bought it brand new from a member in this forum and you will need to send it to him to change it to work with your VIN number. The installation is really easy. $550 plus shipping.
