  1. Zane Merva Executive Editor / Publisher - GM-Trucks.com October 10th, 2019 Chevrolet is giving the not so subtle hint that the rumored Silverado ZRX model is about to become reality. Today, the brand announced that a "Silverado Race Truck" would compete in this weekend's Laughlin Desert Classic alongside the Hall Racing Colorado ZR2. Interestingly, the Silverado will compete in the Desert's 1200 Stock Class, which limits changes to suspension, under body, and race-safety equipment. What does that mean? This truck is not only ready to race, it's close to production too. The "Silverado Race Truck" is outfitted with a number of aftermarket goodies that look like they were ripped right off a Colorado ZR2. Starting as an LT Trail Boss with the 6.2L V8, the Silverado Race Truck is outfitted with a long travel suspension, front and rear jounce shocks and Multimatic DSSV dampers. In short... the modifications that Chevy applies to the Colorado for the ZR2 model. Why didn't Chevy just come out and call this the ZRX Race Truck? We're not sure, but there's no doubt this is a low flying announcement made to pave the way towards an eventual Silverado model that emulates the ZR2's success in a larger package. Whether that's enough to take on the Ford Raptor is too early to determine. Stay tuned for updates on the "Silverado Race Truck" and future Silverado ZRX.
  2. Hello, Everyone! I never menction much about my job, but im the Parts, Garments and Accesories Manager on a Polaris Dealer (Pue, Mx) As some of you may have seen on my last video, i like to go off roading on my ´15 Silverado 2wd, and some of my customers at the dealer constantly want me to take them on trails i know up the popocatepetl volcano, which is active, and is a couple of hours away from the city Last time i made a video about it, hope you guys like it, and subscribe to my youtube channel, it always makes my day. I´ll also leave some pics here as well
  3. Turns out the Rebel TRX concept is heading to production very soon. Has anyone seen this new unveil from Ram? Been waiting for a performance truck from GM for almost 2 decades now. Not a street unit, but apparently this beast will have options for a 575hp 7.0L NA Hemi, or the supercharged 6.1L Hemi making 707hp as found in the Hellcat and Trackhawk. I never thought I would consider a Dodge, but this thing puts the Raptor and anything GM makes to shame in the truck department. https://www.ramtrucks.com/en/limited-editions/ram-1500/rebel-trx/ https://www.caranddriver.com/features/the-2018-ram-rebel-is-a-car-worth-waiting-for-feature What do you guys think?
  4. John Goreham Contributing Writer, GM-Trucks.com 12-23-2016 Ford's Raptor preview videos have been pretty tame. This one takes a step in the right direction.
  5. John Goreham Contributing Writer, GM-Trucks.com 12-12-2016 Last week the news that the Ford Raptor and F-150 were being delayed due to the new 10-speed transmission co-designed by Ford and GM was tempting. GM-Trucks considered bringing that news story to our readers, but when possible, we like to keep the news upbeat and not dwell on minor negative issues. We also didn't have any source from Ford on the matter, so we would have had to trust what others were saying. We're glad we held off. It turns out the news wasn't true. TechTimes printed a correction and points out that the essence of the story, that the trucks were not shipping, is just wrong. They are, and were at the time of the story. The new F-150s and Raptors are arriving at dealers already. Mike Levin of Ford is credited with issuing the formal statement from Ford on the matter, correcting what many reported.
  6. We were out at the Mint 400 Race this past weekend and Ford had on display the 2017 Ford Raptor. With loads of new features, bigger shocks and now an Ecoboost engine this Raptor is ready to battle. We like the look, what do you all think? 7. John Goreham Contributing Writer, GM-Trucks.com 5/2/2016 GM-Trucks.com would like to thank the members who suffered through the prior two videos we posted about the Ford Raptor. In those prior vids, the Raptor tiptoes around a bit and then daintily hikes up its skirt as it slowly passes through a stream (Don't get water above the hubs!). In this new video, the Raptor, which apparently is afraid of water, is in the dessert and seems to be in its element. A fair amount of the video footage is of the Raptor airborne, so maybe it is more bird than fish. Hey that makes sense, Raptor, as in bird of prey. In any case, the video below is pretty flattering to the newest super-truck from Ford. Watch for the paddle shifter part. Very cool.
  8. John Goreham Contributing Writer, GM-Trucks.com 10/5/2015 Two months ago we shared Ford's teaser video showing the next Raptor in testing. The truck gingerly crawled through the forest. Now Ford has a new video. Since this is the second one were expecting to see drifts, jumps, rocky climbs, and high-speed runs off-road. You be the judge. Is a truck video that warns not to get water above the hubs some kind of joke, or is Ford just showing this truck off too soon? The new Raptor is due in one year.
  9. John Goreham Contributing Writer, GM-Trucks.com 8/21/2015 The next Ford Raptor will be the first with a mainly aluminum body. Some composite parts will be even lighter than aluminum. The Raptor is also going to go with the second-generation 3.5-Liter EcoBoost turbocharged V6 rather than a V8. Predictions are 450 hp and a huge boost in torque compared to prior Raptors. Ford released the following video to get folks thinking about what this truck will be capable of. The Colorado ZR2 cannot come fast enough.
