+1 on this, plus replies above. I run Mobil 1 Synthetic and used to change every ~7000 miles. After sending samples of two consecutive oil changes to Blackstone Labs, they told me I still had plenty of friction modifiers in my oil, and recommended that I change every 9000-10000 miles or so.
Changed oil last night and sent a sample to Blackstone Labs for analysis. Putting together a shopping list today for supplies I need to wash/wax/detail the truck & motorcycle this weekend.
I KNEW I've heard of this topic before....I beat my brain for a good 3 days trying to remember where I saw a How-To on this topic. Bounce over to SilveradoSS.com and check out this thread.

Note that it will take some skills with a screwdriver and a soldering iron. But it looks like an inexpensive fix.
Ouch....see that's lame. It's like what John Travolta said in Pulp Fiction: "You just don't f**k with another man's automobile. It's against the rules!". I agree with Daddy....I've heard about detailers using a steam cleaner to get crap off the finish. Or maybe rubbing alcohol...
