Thank you NHAT4. I appreciate your time and help to respond. I can't order a 2020, yet. I'll keep looking. I mainly what something that bolts directly to the frame like my Westin does. I don't want a new bumper. If you run across something, please remember me searching. Thank you ?
Starting to look. I like the Weston winch mount and grill guard. I intend to order a GMC Denali and want a Warn winch mounted on something like the Westin design. Any suggestions are appreciated. Sent from my XT1635-01 using Tapatalk
If this needs to be moved, please do so. There used to be many sites, like thru credit unions where you could go down the entire list of options for a new truck and finally get the price for MSRP, wholesale and dealer invoice, IIRC. You could also track the truck thru the builds prices and see what time each component was installed. And follow your truck as the train shipped it. 9/11 stopped that last step. Then walk in to a dealer and order exactly what you want and six to eight weeks later receive the truck as you want it to be. No compromises. Things have changed over the years, in sure. Is there a similar prices to find and do the same thing. Thank you for your help and time. Dr Mark
2005 Chevy Silverado. Painless wiring, 4 headlight kit. Two other trucks with this kit, never a problem. Few days ago, left low beam hesitated to come on. Like a poor connection that vibration cured. Then the light didn't come on. It was a new bulb in place, but I tried a new one and nothing. Checked the fuse. It was blown. With the light removed, new fuses blew with light switch engaged. I had a stroke last year, so it's hard to manipulate wires one handed. Wanted to see if anyone with this setup had experienced this. I wondered if my relay might have failed and of that would cause a short and blow the fuses, but it's only one light and not both though. Thanks for any replies and help.
Thanks DNT. I WILL Thanks.DNT, will check that. I was wondering if I bought a new radio, ice for s great guy to install, and maybe he could find the same thing, but how would I search, myself to find the same radio unit? Thanks EVERYONE. On edit-- would this work if I run out of other options? I checked my ground wires and none seem to be even slightly loose. I don't know is checking the less than a year old battery is gonna help as it cranks right up, with no hesitation and with the key off is steady at 11.9 volts and 14.1'volts when driving. Not sure what else it can be. I just still think a ground is bad. Sent from my XT1635-01 using Tapatalk
The presets on the radio done reset, just the clock. Just had the alternator replaced and this began to happen each time I start the engine. Battery shows 14 volts, all wires see to have a good connections. Looking to see if someone else has experienced this. Thanks for your help and time.
This may be an old problem with a solution already available. I've got a 2005 Silverado they I wish I could add the mirrors with built in blinkers. I don't need heated mirrors, but would like the added safety/visibility of the signal mirrors. Only problem I dread is, is I can't find someone to reprogram the ECM, I don't want to go to the dealer as the once is totally dishonest. Sent from my XT1635-01 using Tapatalk
https://duraflap.com/. Custom made, pricey, but hand made and the best. Diesel Place members were getting a 10% discount. Family run business, USA made. Good luck. Sent from my XT1635-01 using Tapatalk
I had two 5.3's with over 300,000 miles that never had any problems. I have always run Mobil 1 oil and a WIX filter. Both were well maintained and never abused. I found a 2005 5.3 crew cab in perfect condition an older man had. Only had 85,000 miles. Running great. Just a side note, my brother, who is s lawyer, but tight, I call him cheap....well do am I, I by what I need, not what's gonna impress somebody who doesn't matter anyway. My brother went and looked at s truck. Very clean outward appearance. He took a paper towel with him. Checked the oil. Not registering on the dipstick. When asked about oil change interval, they didn't have an answer. When he looked underneath, he found a main bearing seal leak. So, just check for leaks, see if the oil is clean, black or not even registering . Good luck, they're out there and there are used car guys who seem to have a knack for locating these good, well maintained trucks. Sent from my XT1635-01 using Tapatalk
Looks like a clean, undamaged, well taken care of truck. Some people take better care of their vehicles. And the second owner benefits Sent from my XT1635-01 using Tapatalk Sent from my XT1635-01 using Tapatalk
Not sure if you've got your heart set on that particular product. I've got the Westin winch mount and brush guard. Mounts directly to the frame and tow hooks are rated at 16,000 pounds, I IIRC. I'm using a WARN 10S and the lower cross bar prevents theft, but I've always cut a couple of pieces of angle iron and tack welded them over the mounting bolts from underneath to prevent a combination wrench from accessing the bolt heads. A multi-mount set-up usually only is secured by a bolt in the receiver hitch pin. A can of air for cleaning keyboards can be used to freeze the lock and a ball pein hammer will fracture the lock into pieces, no noisy cordless grinder needed and your whole winch and carrier are gone. A couple of folks have posted YouTube installs, by themselves, of the Westin install. The Westin allowed me to mount a 32 in Auxbeam LED light bar with a 5D lens on the flat middle crossbar and an Auxbeam 22.5 inch LED light bar with the C3 lens with round bar mounts. Gives the combinations of 30 degree spot/60 degree flood and 10 degree spot/150 degree flood. Whatever you do, you'll never be without a winch again. I've never owned a truck, ATV, RUV without at least one winch. No matter how much HP you add, no matter high high the lift, no matter the tires (I've had 44 inch Gumbo Mudders).... YOU WILL GET STUCK. Without the winch, you gotta call others and bother them, or pay. Whenever you see a truck with a lift, pretty wheels and no winch. They're not going anywhere and coming home on their own. If you get yourself a winch, get at least two snatch blocks do you can winch backwards with the front-mounted winch. Some soft shackles, stronger than steel and safer, a couple of lifting straps that don't stretch, not kinetic recovery that are designed to stretch, like Bubba Rope, that is the best recovery rope and guarantee around. Good luck on your project. If you want any pics, let me know. Sent from my XT1635-01 using Tapatalk
What kind of lights are you planning to use, what purpose? How many amps will they drew, or if you know how many watts you can calculate the current draw. What kind of fused protection are you planning? Are planning on a relay to trigger the lights? Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
