  1. Yea the temp thing is wierd. Only vehicle I've ever owned in my life that you had to drive around for 5-10 minutes before the ambient temp adjusted. Been that way on all 3 of my Silverados........ Oh, just out of curiosity if your screen didn't show song/station info before, what did it show? One little thing like that I've noticed is it mine only shows the Album artwork from my itunes if it's hardwire connected.........
  2. I have also had issues with my gas mileage over the years. I had a 2014 for 2 years and am currently about a year and a half into a 2015. Both totally stock with the 5.3L V-8. I don't drive all that much (don't know if that has any impact, my 2015 only has 6100 miles on it) and both trucks, amazingly, have averaged 13.4 MPG, exactly. I'm not thrilled with that but I really only need to fill it up every 10 days or so, and gas is hovering around $2-2.15/gallon (although with the Giant discount tied to grocery purchases I usually pay about .75 cents a gallon every third fill) so it really isn't the end of the world but I sure seem to get worse mileage than most? I'm in Philly BTW where it either seems to be 100 or 25 degrees.....
  3. so here's one for you guys-when asked what color your truck is, what do you say? I find it brown/grey (more brown) personally.
  4. are you saying that's bad? on a new, unbroken in engine? I have 4,000 miles on my 5.3/V8 and am at 13.2. I'm taking it into the dealer next week and am going to go off.
  5. this is obviously only a short term solution but have you tried starting it remotely and then putting the key in?
  6. well, I was told my truck was "heavy" by my dealership, and that was probably why I was averaging 14.2 MPG. Thanks, thanks for that.
  7. I am still at 14.2, even with the download so no improvement whatsoever. mix of city and highway. When I had the download done, was told by the service tech "well it is a heavy truck". Um, thanks. I'm still under 3,000 miles so I am going to give it some time.
  8. 2200 miles in and stuck at 14.5 (since day 1). would say that's a 50/50 mix of highway and city. I'm going to go to trip B and reset to zero and see if the mileage has improved. I have a bit of a lead foot and live in a very congested area so I'm not expecting 20ish, bit I am a little disappointed with what I've gotten so far. Gas prices have come way down since I bought the truck a couple of months ago so that has eased the sting a tad. As others have said, as the engine breaks in a bit more hopefully my numbers will improve.
