  1. Yea, these new trucks seem to sag a lot with weight in the back. Last week i had two yards of topsoil in the bed and it was like driving a boat on the road. The back end was almost maxed out and the front end felt like it was barely touching the road. After i unloaded it i went back for a yard of limestone and it was almost the same effect. Mine
  2. I'm not sure. Maybe they went up in the price and I just got lucky (again lol)? I just opened the box (it's been sealed since I haven't had time to install them) and I received a wiring harness labeled "plug and play conversion kit for 75154-01a". It has an odb2 port plug with it so I assume it's the right one. I know when I purchased every other company had the harnesses listed at $150 so they may have slipped up and gave it to me cheaper than they should have and now they are pricing them in line with the other companies. Edit: Here are a couple pictures of what i received.
  3. I'm in the same boat as you as far as waiting for the harness module. I just called autoanything and spoke to Dasan at ext 7135 (Great guy btw) and he put in a special order for the harness for me since they dont carry it just yet. Price is better than i have seen as well at $115.50 out the door. Should be here in a week or two.
  4. Thanks bud. They are not the greatest (tie-rod ends) but they are definietly not horrible as I've seen far worse. How are you like the ride so far. Is it super stuff in the front? Do the upper A-arms hit the bump stops when the wheels are in a downward travel?
  5. Can you post some pictures of your angles please.
  6. Do you have any direct side shots? How much of the frame is visible when looking at the side of the truck?
  7. How did the ball joints and tie-rod ends look?
  8. How bad do they rub? I was contemplating on going with the 285/60 duratracs. Can you post some pictures?
  9. Well when you get it, hurry up and get it installed so i can look at it and follow suit lol I live in Lafayette as well so feel free to PM me if you'd like help. I plan to mount one in the same space as you. I might even add a 30" behind the grill (for shiggles). I'm probably going to go with Chinese versions though as i cant bring my self to drop the coin that rigid/visionX etc wants for theirs. I know that they are made in the US (supposedly) but $500+ for a light bar is ridiculous to me (No offense).
  10. What do the boards connect to inside the door?
  11. Did they mention what they were having to tie into for each door? It seems to me, as with others im sure, that a single tie in at the computer would be feasible (dome lights, door ajar signal, etc) Im curious as to what the connect to inside of each door. I mean if its a signal wire (door ajar, dome lights, etc) shouldn't you be able to make this tie in at the trucks BCM vs making it inside the door panel? Swasimoto: Do both steps drop regardless of what door is opened? For instance, if you open the driver side door, does the passenger side step drop down with the driver side? Or does the passenger side stay retracted while the driver side drops?
  12. I did a quick search and came across this: http://picclick.com/16mm-Red-circle-led-momentary-black-push-button-390724678203.html Its not a 3 way switch, but it does have a red LED ring to match the interior (Not sure if you pan to mount in visible area) Theoretically you could just tie this into the power wire running to the steps to cut off or allow power to the steps. I would think that if you were going to detail your vehicle you could open the door so that the steps drop and then push the button on the switch to kill the power to them and they would stay down allowing you to finish your detail job. This is a 12v switch, which i assume is what the steps require power wise. Im sure they make larger capacity switches if they require more power or the wire gauge is lager than the switch prongs. EDIT: Link to AMP Install Guide: http://www.amp-research.com/products/truckaccessories/powerstep/
  13. Glad to see that they arrived!! Make sure you post some pictures of the install. I plan to tackle these myself as well unless i can find a reliable shop to do it on the cheap. I don't plan on forking over $300-$500 for it though. Im pretty mechanically inclined and can solder pretty well, so if worst comes to worst i will do the work myself. I just logged in to the site and it shows them in route, but they're in Tennessee. Scheduled delivery is slated for Friday by end of day. Looks like ill have something to do this weekend
  14. Understandable. Im sure you could easily splice in a switch to do this.
  15. I have never owned a set so i may be wrong, but i would assume since they tuck up under the truck quite well, dragging them wont be an issue. I would think you would catch the truck frame or something else before you actually catch the running board. Also, i know that they have a feature that stop them if something prevents them from retracting up (Say a kids foot or something is stuck between the truck and the running board) and i would have to assume the same would be true if something prevented them from dropping. Again, i have never owned a set, but i see my assumptions being fairly good towards that.
  16. I actually had the same idea lol. the other day i measured the space and began looking at light bars. The only issue will be mounting. If you look behind the bumper at the back of the plastic there are mounting tabs that hold the plastic to the metal frame. I havent decided if i want to cut that out just yet and im not sure if there are low profile lights that would fit in the pocket and still be flush mount with the bumper. The other idea i had was to mount the light in the plastic where a front license plat would mount. One could possibly cut the section out between the lines of the mold and mount a 15"/20" bar (recessed) in the mold.
  17. Ill add to this. Washed the truck today and snapped a couple pictures (phone pics)
  18. That looks great man!!!! Good job!
  19. Fair enough and I had thought about that but didn't think it would really dim the headlights as much as it did. Thanks guys
  20. So last night I hoped in the truck after shopping at a store and happene to turn the wheel. Well. There was a vehicle parked in front if me and I noticed the lights dimmed while turning the wheel from side to side. Do these new trucks have a auto dim feature that dims the lights while turning so that they aren't so bright to oncommers in a turn? This was the first time I noticed it and haven't read anything about the subject so I thought I'd ask.
  21. What rear blocks are you using? It looks like it has a pretty big rake. Can you grab some measurements off the front and rear fenders for us please.
  22. Did you hear that it will mess with the electric steering from someone you know or was this a thread somewhere else? I guess what im asking is is this a reliable source? Links? I plan to go with large tires when i do the leveling kit. I plan to run 305-55-20's on my stock wheels. I was told tht they would fit with a 2", but i like the idea of having another 1/2" in height just in case.
  23. Looks great! A bit off topic: I see everyone going with the 2" leveling kit. Is there a reason y'all are choosing this over the 2.5"? Ive been on the fence about which kit to order for a while now and I'm looking for some input to help me make a decision.
