    2014 Silverado Z71

    My 2014 Silverado Z71
  2. Ok all, need some help!!! Did the 4/6 drop on my CCSB, and have had a crazy vibration since at highway speeds, 68-78 ish MPH. About to just lift it back up until it is gone! Had the shop put in 2.5 degree shims before the last road trip, and not a bit better. HELP!!
  3. There is a little bit of rake towards the front. Maybe 1/2 inch difference.
  4. Here it is with the wheels on. Wish I had a little more tire, but it rides great.
  5. You have to remove the brackets and then rebolt them to the frame. There is almost no way to get the bolts in the right place.
  6. Used the McGaughy's 34170 adjustable kit, and used the 4/6 option. It comes with struts and rear shocks. The rear bump stops were a pain. I have 24" Versante 228s in chrome. We originally ordered 295/35-24 Nexen tires, but they were way to big. Putting 275/30-24s on them. Will put updated pics once they are mounted this weekend.
  7. Just finished the 4/6 drop.

Here it is after the 4/6 drop, but before the wheels are on it.

This will likely be the last pic of the truck with the 2" drop shackles. Ordered a McGaughys 3/5, 4/6, 5/7 adjustable drop kit today. Going to run 24x10s with 295/35R24s. More pics soon to come!
  10. I have about $750 in the system, not counting the amps. I already had the two Fosgate amps. You could use a couple RF Prime amps and be out for about $1000 total. If you went with the same amps about $1,500.
  11. I decided after a week of having the Crew that the factory non-Bose system really sucks. I will be installing an Audio Control LC6i to convert the factory signals over to RCA. I am running 2 Rockford amps, a Power T400-4 for the doors, and a Power T400-2 for the sub. The door speakers are Rockford P1675 3-ways in the front doors, and P165 2-ways in the rear doors. I am using a single 12" Rockford P3SD4 under the driver's side rear seat in a Subthump box. (http://subthump.com/product_info.php?cPath=1_72&products_id=457) The power and ground will be Lightning Audio 1/0 gauge to the back, and then 4 gauge to the amps. Running 14 gauge speaker wire to the doors, and 12 for the sub. I'm going to try leaving the dash speakers hooked up to the factory outputs, just to have some fill in up front. Lots of install pics to come.

The box will be tucked up under the driver's side back seat. All that's left is getting some short RCA cables and hooking up the power and ground wires for the LC6i. Should be done today!

I wired the sub in parallel, which with the dual 4 Ohm voice coils will give me a 2 Ohm mono channel. I will be bridging the Rockford Fosgate T400-2 on the 2 Ohm load, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it can live up to it's rating.

The terminal connector on the sub box was set up for speaker crimp connections. That was a little sketchy for me, so I soldered the 12 gauge wires to the terminals in the inside.

The green plug in the stereo is the power and speaker outputs. For those of you that need it: Left Front: + Blue /- Brown and Blue Right Front: + Yellow /- Yellow and Black Left Rear: + Green / - Green and Black Right Rear: + White / - Blue I used crimp connectors and electrical tape. Would have soldered the connections, but there was very little slack in the wires to work with.

I used plenty of Fat Mat around the speaker location in the door. Door was pretty easy to get apart with the cheat sheet I found.
  17. Just finished replacing the rear speakers on the 2014 Z71. Tomorrow, the fronts!

I re-used the factory speaker platforms in the back doors. The tweeters in the P165 speakers were almost too tall to use the platforms. I put Fat Mat on the doors, then put in the platforms. I flush trimmed the foam around the factory speaker, and used a razor to cut the rubber surround. A little trimming with the jig saw, and the factory speakers were gone and the platforms were ready for the new Fosgates.

Ran the 0 gauge through the fuse block and down the frame rail under the truck. This should keep any interference away from all the speaker wires.

Went ahead with the 0 gauge just in case I upgrade later. And can you have too much power?

Lightning Audio by Rockford Fosgate. 0 gauge from the Battery to the distribution block under the back seat for power, and 0 gauge to the grounding block fastened to the back seat body stud.

    Fostage P1675 6 3/4" 3-ways for the front doors and P165 6 1/2" 2-ways for the back doors.
