  1. Similar experience as this can suddenly happen to anyone. My wife and her friends took my old '02 Silverado on a road trip a few years back. She prepared to exit the interstate and turned off the cruise control. The truck started accelerating as she entered the off-ramp. She tried several things before shifting the truck to neutral and turning off the ignition. Pretty calm considering a truck full of screaming women. She called AAA and had the truck towed 200 miles to my local Chevy dealer. Here's what they found: The State was chip-sealing the highway and a rock bounced around under the hood until it fell perfectly under the throttle stop (not sure the exact term) on the throttle body. It was a million-in-one shot. The service department had never seen anything like it. In theory, that rock could have fallen out during the tow and then it would be the old "no problem found" scenario. I totally agree with the moderator on cutting the OP some slack as these things really do happen. I realize this is an old topic but did the OP ever get an answer on what caused his issue?
