  1. BOTH ! The smallest imperfection in the road at slow speed makes your ears pound like a subwoofer is pounding in the car (classic Booming). and the freeway buffeting is unbearable! I could live the clunking transmission from time to time, or even the F450 truck suspension system...... but the booming and buffeting is just awful. Its a shame GM cant get this worked out. They are without a doubt the best looking SUV's out there..... Well maybe at par with the RR Sport. But that's not the answer for a reliable soccer mom mobile. LIFE is TOO SHORT for this non sense........ do yourself a favor, and go by something else. lol. What's really funny, Is my wife thinks im a freak over this whole thing. She thinks her Escipile is just great. Just yesterday at one of our girls soccer games, another mom that has a 2015i Escalade pulled up in a new Lexus LX570. We asked where's your Escalade. She replied " Its getting bought back under the Lemon Law. All I could do was grin my wifes way.....LOL. She's on her SEVENTH set of brakes. she only has 40k on the vehicle.
  2. Well...... IM FIANALLY DONE with GM and this whole mess ! Until they get this completely figured out. Today we received the letter saying GM would grant a 100% refund on this 2016 Escalade. We've been getting Ridiculous offers for the last few weeks from GM. Saying they would give us first $5,000 to keep the Escalpile, then 7, then 9, then 11K. Our Esq keep returning the same letter saying nothing short of a 100% refund would result in a Law suite and they would now be liable for up to $166K per Ca law. For those that recognize my screen name. THIS IS THE THIRD NEWER SUV GM HAS BOUGHT BACK IN ABOUT TWO YEARS (TWO 2015'S & ONE 2016). They bought back our early production 2015 Yukon SLT. Then bought back the 2015i Escalade. Against my better judgment, my wife wanted to try another. And as we all now the 2016's are just as bad as the 2015's. GM fought me on every attempted repair with the "GM CUSTOMER SERVICE LINE" What a joke these people are ! They are NOT GM employees, they are an outside call center group GM pays to Defuse your complaints. GM Does not care about you, They only want your money....simple as that! All this even after the GM field engineer said our vehicle's Pico scope reading were very high. They tried all the normal known fixes, even tried Dyna matting the entire roof... Nothing will stop the booming and buffeting. They STILL are refusing to try a new exhaust system or dampener's for some reason. So I'm VERY happy to give the keys back to another one of these PILES OF rough riding JUNK! I can only hope GM redesigns these vehicles. Truly great LOOKING SUV's, but they are just terrible. We've already replaced it with a New Toyota Landscruiser. Doesn't look half as nice, but it rides as a LUXURY vehicle should. Doesn't make any of the Booming or Buffeting noises. As we're preparing to give this back, the transmission is clunking bad again, and the entire dash will go black from time to time...LOL. I wish you all the best of luck with trying to fix your Tahoe's, Yukon's and Escalades. Life is too short to be dealing with $60-100,000.00 vehicles that the manufacture KNOWS are flawed. BYE BYE GM !
  3. Do you know these people you are dealing with at GM Early response center are NOT employees of GM? They are a outside firm GM hired to defuse direct heat off themselves. This is EXACTLY the position GM took with us also. The GM field engineer said " your Escalade isn't nearly as bad as others I've driven " so that's supposed to make this 100k vehicle acceptable ? GM IS A TOTAL JOKE! I for one am done with them. When they buy this THIRD Essy back (two 2015's and now this 2016... All lemon law buy backs), I'll be hard pressed to ever give GM another one of my dollars. What kills me is, everywhere you look here in So-cal there's a sea of new GM suv's. All to unknowingly family's that thought their new SUV they just purchased was worth the insane money they spent for it. It's really sad GM keeps taking advantage of unknowingly American families. While they keep pumping out vehicles THEY KNOW are flawed!!!! All the while posting record earnings, and the fat cats in the ivory tower get their Mega bonus. It's disgusting !!!
  4. ^^^^^ Jimpro. What year and model do you have? I just started the process to have the THIRD one of these bought back under the CA Lemon Law. Can't take the booming and Buffeting anymore. Which in itself is bad enough, then having to deal with GM Corp BS. New Toyota Landcruiser here we come! Interesting fact I learned from our lemon law Atty. do you know that GM customer service And the GM early response team ARE NOT GM EMPLOYEES? These are outside companies that GM have hired / outsourced to deal with all of us on these issues. So these people we've all been talking too have no skin in the game so to speak. Ya think they really care ?
  5. Our "rental" at the moment for the 2016 Escalade is Back in the shop, has 20" wheels. Has all the booming and Buffeting as our 22". Tell ya what. Went and drove a 2016 Landcruiser today. Gotta honestly say, it doesn't look 1/2 as trick as the Escalade, but it rides 10x better with NONE of the booming, buffeting sounds.
  6. I've always agreed the booming and buffeting are two separate issues. I've been dealing with this MESS since Sept 2014. Like to fix this Escalade for its the best looking SUV available IMPO, but looking for a suitable replacement asap. The 2017 Landcruiser is going to be even uglier then it already is the infinity is terrible, rover isn't the answer for reliability concerns. Wish GM would just fix this problem so we could enjoy the vehicles we paid good money in good faith for.
  7. Very interested in hearing more about these 6 exhaust dampeners. Any more info and or pictures? Where was the dealer that did this? This last week was out in the middle of nowhere in Arizona by Kingman. Running 80-90 mph. The truck has a BAD vibration at this speed that I've never noticed at normal 60-70 mph. Has to be something to the Buffeting on the freeway. I'm at my wits end. Almost ready to spend stupid money for a out dated 2016 Landcruiser. Just to get rid of all these cabin sounds.
  8. yes....... GM bought back TWO 2015's from us, and gave us a 2016. STILL has ALL the buffeting and subwoofer Booming sound problems. Only thing different with the 2016 is GM doesn't want to do ANYTHING to correct the problem. NO MONEY in the world is worth buying one of these new 2015 or 16 SUV's...... They are COMPLETE JUNK !
  9. Yes, they have RF the tires, removed the headliner, inspected the cross members, and Dyna matt'd the entire roof. Now with 12,000 miles on it, its worse then ever. I can't stand to drive in the thing ! I STILL think the super stiff shocks are a major cause of the Booming at low speed. I get the boom while backing out of my driveway and the wheels drop out at full shock extension/drop out. Will anyone at GM listen......Nope.
  10. LORD HELP YOU if you get Gail at GM early response. Ext 5911565 ! She is 100% completely WORTHLESS. She has the Balls to tell me today...... " Sir, you mean to tell me you had two 2015's bought back, and you bought a 2016 ?" Yes Gail, This is what we stupid husbands do to try to make our wives happy....make really stupid mistakes from time to time by buying yet another Total piece of JUNK GM product. just because my wife thinks they look pretty. OR just maybe if GM would actually admit there's a problem here and just fix the damn problem I wouldn't have to deal with this NONSENSE! She is telling me today, since my dealership is refusing to work on this car, its working with in manufactures designs spec's...... RIGHT! GM designed this vehicle to have excessive buffeting at freeway speeds ? GM designed this vehicle to sound like a rolling Sub-Woofer over any small road imperfection? GM designed this vehicle to create motion sickness for excessive cabin pressure? TO ME, as soon as GM put out the TSB's TO ATTEMPT TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM, they admitted there is in fact a problem here ! Why are engineers trying to fix this if in fact there isn't a problem? WHY is there not a class action law suit against these 2015+ SUV's ?? This is absolutely ridiculous ! And BTW: Thanks Gail for leaving me on hold for 20+ minutes today while you were transferring me to your supervisor. Before I gave up and hung up. CAN'T WAIT TILL ANY OTHER MANUFACTURE starts selling something my wife likes ! Just want this ordeal to be over.
  11. ^^^^^ THIS sounds just like what I'm being told right now. We have a 2016 Escalade 4wd that's already had the roof Dynamatt'd, and still can't stand to drive in the vehicle! The booming, buffeting, and sound vibrations are just TERRIBLE! I've been in contact with the service manager, and he said they WILL NOT take the vehicle back in to try to fix it. Obviously he knows there's nothing he can do to fix it. Have an open case open will GM, but GOOD LUCK getting anyone to call you back! And if anyone does call back, they can't do anything to help. They keep saying we have to take it to our dealer. you mean the dealer that wont take it and try to fix it? THIS IS ALL A TOTAL JOKE GM! Not most of the people, but EVERYONE that asks about our new $86,000.00 Escalade I tell them what a total piece of JUNK it is ! I have no less then 10 clients and friends that have not bought one yet for all the issues we've had with our THREE since Sept 2015. IF YOUR IN THE MARKET FOR A 2015+ GM SUV........WAIT! YOU DONT NEED TO SPEND YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY TO HAVE NOTHING BUT FRUSTURATION ! The outdated Toyota Sequia and Landcruisers are looking better and better everyday.
  12. The heated seats are terrible on all these 2015-2016 GM SUV's ! none of them get very hot, and take FOREVER to even get warm. Our old Suburban and Escalade seats were great! Just added a 295.00 seat heater to my daily driver from katskin. they are 100X then our $85,000.00 Escalade's seats. These SUV's are a JOKE!
  13. Well...... After TWO 2015 buybacks, and our new 2016 just spent over two weeks back at the dealership for the EXACT SAME BOOMING NOISE AND EAR PRESSURE. Is it any surprise the issue is still unresolved? What really upsets me is every time a new GM engineer comes out and researchs this particular vehicle, they act like this is the first time they've ever heard about this WELL KNOWN PROBLEM. It's so insulting! They completely Dynamatted the roof, but they wouldn't do the walls and floor as I requested, or switch out the Bridgestone tires for Michelins. End result, it seems a very little bit better. But still not even close to being satisfied with a 85k Luxury SUV that booms over any road flaw.
  14. I submitted a complaint on the 2016, haven't heard anything yet from the NHTSA. Did get a message from the service manager after Gm early response team contacted him. left a message for me stating..... " I haven't heard of this problem before, and I checked for any service bulletins which there aren't any. I think you are experiencing normal characteristics of this vehicle" Just glad I wasn't talking to this person when I heard this. Probably would have said some I'd later regret. My Local dealer that I bought the 1st 2015 Yukon from, AND tried first to buy this 2016 Escalade, but made a big deal about dealer trading for a GMS deal is refusing to take the vehicle in to attempt the repair. Rep from GM early response said its for I didn't buy the truck at their dealership. Well Dan Z, Tell Larry this will INSURE I'll never buy another car or truck from your dealership, And I'll be sure NOT to refer anyone there again as well.
  15. ^^^^^^^^^^^^ x2 ! Have been in COUNTLESS 2015 Tahoe's, Suburban's, and Yukon's/XL's as rentals as our TWO 2015 were in the service dept "TRYING" to be corrected. Not most,, but EVERYONE of these rentals have the booming, buffeting, and ,droaning to some degree. I personally have not been in one that DOESN'T make this noise !
