  1. Problem Solved!! At least for me. 3 of my 4 doors rattled when going on rough roads. Talked to dealer body shop and he said he has not heard of this problem and that there is no door adjustment on those models. I decided to remove the door catch and attempt to bend it in slightly to see if that fixes the problem. As I was removing the T-40 bolts I found that the housing inside the body was lose. I then noticed that the catch housing has approximately 1/2” of vertical adjustment. I adjusted the two front doors as far up as possible and that eliminated the door rattling. Repeated the process on the rear doors and all is good!!! Easy fix and saved me several trips to the dealer.
  2. I never thought of that! I will give it a try. It sounds like my back passenger door is also rattling
  3. I’ve seen a thread on here regarding this topic, but can’t seem to locate it. Anyway, I have a 2021 2500 HD crew cab and both my wife and I have noticed that the front doors rattle when going over bumps. I have read many posts about this issue with 2020-2022 HD’s. Apparently GM knows about this but has yet to come up with a solution. I called the dealership and they have no information about this. Does anyone have any updates regarding this? I’m just trying to avoid several trips to the dealership until a remedy has been found. Thanks
  4. Well I got into my new 2021 a couple of weeks ago and couldn’t be happier with the entire situation. My 2020 was definitely a lemon with the brakes and towards the end, the transmission started sliding forward again when stopping and it had 19,000 miles on it the day I dropped it off at the dealership. GM took care of everything including all fees and taxes. Worse part was the wait to get it built and shipped. At the end of the day, I am a very satisfied GM customer and will continue to buy and drive Chevy.
  5. Funny u should ask. My brake problems were never solved after 4 visits to the dealership. The last time they had a field engineer do the repair. 800 miles later same noises, squealing and moaning. This was in mid September. GM declared my truck a lemon and are replacing it. I am extremely satisfied with how GM handled this. They are trading MSRP TO MSRP. Only problem is timing. There are no 2020’s out there that dealers were willing to part with so I ordered a 2021. It’s scheduled to be built next week and should have it around thanksgiving if they can get it shipped. When all said and done, I will have to cough up $20 for the 2021 for the MSRP difference. Oh and the transmission has been fine since they replaced the mounting bolts. Once again very happy with GM for taking care of a long time customer.
  6. Hi all. I got my 2020 2500 HD late last summer and have had several on going issues. After abut 5000 miles the brakes started squeaking and making a horrible moaning sound. Took to dealer and they replaced the pads. Same thing a month later. Dealer replaced pads again. 2 months later same thing. This time dealer said there have been a lot of reports of the same issue. Factory said to replace rotors and pads until a “proper fix” can be found. So far so good. But it’s only been a week. Second issue the transmission makes a loud noticeable clunk when down shifting to low at a stop sign. 1st dealer reset the computer which made no difference. Took to another dealer today and they said that the transmission bolts have to be replaced because they are allowing something to slip when stopping making the clunking noise. He said they have seen this problem recently. Long post but has anyone else experienced these problems? And what else am I in store for? Thanks
  7. Well here is my update. So after 3 tries to get rid of my vibration GM now told the tech to replace the ring and pinion. Service tech is skeptical that it will take care of the problem. I decided to see what they would do for me on a trade. They offered me close to blue book which was only about $3000 less than I gave. It's a 2014 with 16000 miles. Not ready to throw in the towel on Chevy yet, I worked out a deal on a 2015 Z71 that it pretty well equipped. Bought it on Tuesday afternoon and drove to Colorado that evening. 1100 miles later and guess what?? Nope you would be wrong. Lol. This thing rides as smooth as a $48,000 truck should. Very happy so far. And the deep oacen blue is very pretty as well. I wish the rest of my GM brothers and sisters the best of luck with your trucks.
  8. How has GM responded to customer contacts regarding this matter?
  9. I have been reading posts on this site for some time and had to sign up. I too am very frustrated with my 2014 Silverado 1500 crew. I noticed vibration at around 50 mph. Not to re-hash the previous 340 posts on this I just wanted to share my experience. When I first noticed the vibration I asked the service mgr about it and he said that it was the variable valve timing and was normal. I was skeptical, but had no reason to believe otherwise. So 15000 mi later I decided to take it to another larger dealership 30 miles away for another opinion. They said that it is a know problem and took my concern very seriously. First trip to the dealership they had it for several days and could not find the problem. They said they had a new vibration detection device that they had just received and my truck was its first customer. Well that didn't seem to diagnose the problem. It's Not the tires or wheels as they were force balanced. GM told them to replace the drive shaft because it was .0020 out of spec. They had to order the new shaft. So I took it back today and the drive shaft was not the problem. I asked what the next step was and was told they were going in the rear end next. I love my truck but am starting to regret my choice. I apologize if this is simply a repeat of everyone else's problem. So my question is when do I say enough is enough? I will say that I am more that happy with the way the dealership has treated me. Heck today they gave me a 2016 DMax Z71 as a loaner. Any suggestions is appreciated. Thanks
