  1. Thanks for the reply. Plan on trading it up for a diesel in the next couple of months since it's only 3 cents more expensive than gas.
  2. Noticed today that if I go from reverse to drive and then back to reverse there is a mechanical "clunk" noise coming from the transmission. What in the heck could it be now?
  3. Hello all. I'm having an issue with my turn signals. My drivers side front signal is super dim compared to my passengers side. Ive changed the bulb, put in a new flasher, gave the ground some bare metal to work with. Any ideas from there?
  4. Plan on going with ac delco or Delphi and doing the install myself with the help of a couple guys. Taking the bed off seems like the easiest way to go about it
  5. Fuel pump is headed to its death bed quick and I need to know which replacement will work. I have a '99 Silverado 1500 3 door.
  6. Any recommendations on a brand of fuel pump and what kind do I need? There are so many options!
  7. Definitely going to have to deal with the fuel pump. Was going up hill and the truck was straining to make it. Then set the cruse at 65 and engine light starts blinking and truck seems to be lurching as if it can't keep up with the demand for power. Will be taking it to a mechanic in the next few days.
  8. A popping noise has just started in the rear of the truck and is most noticeable when going slow, as in under 20-15 MPH. Thinking it could be the rear differential so I'm going to clean that out and throw some new fluids in there. Any other ideas on what it could be?
  9. Small leak. Doesn't slip but seemed to take a second longer than it should to shift (probably just used to the CVT in the wife's Nissan). Just want to get away from the seemingly bad stock tranny. Wouldnt swap until the stock won't move at all (or just enough to vet to a mechanic to switch it)
  10. Been looking around for a replacement for the transmission in this truck since I plan on keeping it a while. What do you guys think about this? http://www.carid.com/1999-chevy-silverado-performance-transmission-parts/bm-performance-street-and-strip-transmission-11113995.html#product-details-tab
  11. Thanks for all the input guys. Gives me a direction to start attacking this truck from.
  12. It drips enough to leave a little residue on the garage. I've wiped it off once or twice now and it slowly drips. Not enough to physically see it drip while i'm cleaning it but enough to, again, leave a mark on my garage maybe a half in in diameter. What would you say is the cost of this typically, if it is the seal?
  13. I have about 1 week of experience with the unit so you could say I'm somewhat of a know-it-all. HAHA that being said, I was under the truck the other day looking as any owner should, and I noticed there was a small leak around the torque converter housing (if that sounds remotely accurate, it's what I believe from my hour or so of research) and these transmissions have a habit of getting pin hole size leaks. JB weld seem to be the answer to that. I'm just looking at either getting it rebuilt into something more reliable or fixing the one I'm with. 14. Not super savvy with the abbreviations and truck lingo. Could you dumb it down for me Chris?
