  1. Overdrive works in tow mode on my 2015 5.3L 6spd....
  2. You'd think, right???? Best guess I have is this is the result of a ton less gear hunting than what occurs in normal mode. This seems to allow the AFM to work more intelligently. I hold in 4cyl much longer and can actually accelerate in 4cyl mode.
  3. It's really hard to gauge. I do a ton of stop and go driving (one light to the next) and some highway driving. I have about 1400 miles on the truck with a lifetime average of 15 mpg. Trip A was started when I started Tow mode and only has 46 miles on it with and average of 16 mpg. However, watching the mpg on the DIC, I think I should be able to get substantially better milage with Tow enabled.
  4. I tried T/H mode today in auto/4wd mode and was evan more impressed. For some reason, the drivetrain vibration in auto mode was FAR less pronounced while in tow mode. It almost is as if the truck was designed to run in auto/4wd and tow mode and all other combinations were afterthoughts. Unfortunately, it appears that the truck is not designed to run full time in auto/4wd mode, otherwise, my truck would always be in tow/auto mode.
  5. This is what I'm say'n! It's raining today so I plan on testing it with auto/4wd.
  6. At first I found it a little strange. But it quickly became very predictable and welcome. I like the downshifting... If I don't want to downshift, I just feather the gas. I also noticed when doing this, the mpg go through the roof!
  7. Why isn't this the default mode for these trucks????? Seems like all good stuff to me: 1) The transmission is more responsive and consistent than in normal mode. 2) Transmission wear is reduced 3) break wear may be reduced 4) Seems like fuel economy is even better. No firm #'s yet, but watching the mpg seems like it is actually more efficient then normal mode. I'm finding it stays longer in 4 with far less switching between 8 and 4. 5) Feels like I have more direct access to the engines available power, making for the impression of faster acceleration. I thought there was a big difference between auto and 2wd drive regarding how responsive and consistent the transmission felt.... The difference between tow/haul and normal makes the auto/2wd difference seem completely insignificant by comparison. So far I've only tested it in 2wd. Ok... so, what's the downside to driving in this mode full time? I know there's gotta be one... If not, I see myself always running in tow mode.
  8. Had mine installed by the dealer today. An upgrade that is well worth the price in my book....
  9. Some idiot dumped his ladder on the highway over the weekend.... I ran over it at 65 mph. Fortunately, it was just a small bump for the truck, but it could have easily been worse. I'm having skid plates installed tomorrow.
