  1. Hey guys. FYI- I had toyo open country A/T's onMy GMC Sierra 1500 Z71 LT275/65R18 the dealer said they were bad. This was after the OEM tires were supposed to be bad. We took the Toyos off and put on LT275/65R18 BF Goodrich KO2 load range E and it was better but still there. They called the GM rep in and of course he blamed the new tires, saying they were aftermarket and not factory. I told them to swapp my tires with a stock unit and the vibration was so bad he could not believe it. The rep said the tires on the stock unit must be bad too. Hard to believe they say this crap with a straight face. We put my BF's back on and he says commercially acceptable. I filed for CT lemon law and won. I now have a 2017 Silverado and so far so good no issues at all. Smooth up to 85. I won't hold my breath....
  2. Everybody talks about vibration in their trucks. GM is really covering their butts, take a look at your warranty book General Motors now states they will not cover slight noises and vibrations in their pick up trucks . I'm on my second truck now and all GM wants to do is throw tires at this problem. I personally have tested my truck from bumper-to-bumper and in my opinion it's more of a tolerance issue on multiple components. I think they keep throwing tires at it looking for a soft enough Tire to absorb some of the vibration transfer from the road. That's why they keep trying brand after brand after brand. What I don't understand is why can't they just create a frequency damper and mount it on the inter-panels of both sides of the frame that should help reduce the frequency vibrations Ford actually has these on their F150s and it actually works. Just venting guys I'm frustrated like everybody else
  3. Hello all, it's been a while since I've posted but I thought I would give you an update. My 2015 GMC Was shaking so bad you could not put anything in the cup holder without spilling it. After four sets of tires a rear differential a new driveshaft two new front bearings a set of shocks and 63 days in the shop and it is exactly the same as it was when we started how sad is that. I have been a master technician for 27 years and I think I may have figured it out it's not one specific item that causes the vibrations it's accumulative, the rear axles are out, put a dial indicator on them and they're out of spec front bearings the same driveshaft the same you need to buy aftermarket high-end front bearings have the spindles turned true on a lathe and have the driveshaft properly balanced and the vibrations go away. I tried to get the dealer to make some of these repairs and they refused . I spoke to one of the techs and he agreed with me which was surprising I mean we know there's an issue with these frames but I just think GM is using cheap spindles cheap bearings and the manufacturing of the driveshafts they're using are just not true and they are very susceptible to vibration . I just can't understand why they keep throwing tires at this after eight sets of tires on one truck I think just common sense would tell you it's counterproductive to do another set. CT lemon law has bought back every truck with a vibration. If you live in CT let me know. They just replaced mine with a 2017 so I guess I'll hold my breath
  4. (After two different road force and spin balances and having one of the tires replaced, I still have the following: *Very noticable buzzing\vibration in the steering wheel\gas pedal while in the 45-55 mph range *Front seats\console shake while in the 74-80 mph range. I can't say for sure if it goes away above 80 because it has been hard to test a speed that high (traffic/cops, etc.) HOW CAN SO MANY SILVERADOS HAVE THESE ISSUES? Early 14's, late 14's, 15's... I have a hard time believing that it is just tires, driveshafts or rear pinions/gear/teeth related, since it is so wide spread; as mentioned earlier, it's almost as if these trucks are super duper sensitive to any imperfection (tire, driveshaft balance, rear end, suspension, etc.). Is it possible there is NO actual fix for most of us? I am extremely hesitant to have a dealer with half a brain to throw parts and replacements at me, especially when they don't know the things discussed on this thread forum. I am so sick of being sick of this truck. SO much to love about it too.) quote I have the identical problems at the exact same speeds... My truck has been in the shop 51 days as of today and still not fixed. I have only owned it for 5 months. I put more miles on the loaners than my own truck...
  5. I've been reading everyone's posts. It seems like there are multiple components causing the vibrations. Mine started at 45 to 65 then dealer put new ring and pinion and now it's vibes from 68 to 80. Then they messed with mounts and driveshaft now it's even worse, starts at 45 all the way to 80... Terrible to drive not to mention the gas peddle vibes, as well as floor and center console. Mine is fine on decel. Mine is more on hard excell or steady speeds. I am working on LL in my state.
  6. Hey guys I'm new here. I bought a 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 Z71 back in April of this year. It went in the shop at 165 miles. They said tires were bad. I had them put TOYO open country at/2 LT275/65/18 E , it seemed a bit better for maybe 100 miles, then I brought it back in and the road force balanced them and said its perfect. On my way home it was not even close. Steering vibrated, seat and console too. Went back it 150 miles later and they blamed the new tires. We took those off and put on BF Goodrich KO2's LT275/65/18. Knew right away that it was not the tires. I got real busy and could not get back to dealer until 1500 miles on truck. They tried to tell me it was tires again and I snapped and said ( that mathematically impossible for 3 sets to have the exact same issue) they kept it for 21 days and put in a new driveshaft and a new ring and pinion. Funny thing the vibration moved from lower speeds to all highway speeds now. I should have left it alone! I took a trip down south and put about 3k on the truck. It was a complete nightmare to drive on the highway. You can't put any liquids in the cup holders because it will splash them all over the place. I brought it back in on Aug 29 2016. Took shop Forman for a ride and he said yes it's bad. They called me 2 weeks later and said, it's the tires. I said fine put on a stock set from the lot and let's go for a nice ride. It was even worse. I suggested they remove the rear driveshaft and put in 4 WD and go for a ride. They said it was still there...the truck has now been in the shop for 46 days. CT has a great lemon law and I know for a fact they have bought back 6 trucks so far. If your in CT call you lemon law guy and get set up.
