  1. Thanks, I’ve never had the audio/sounds not come back once I’ve turned the truck off and came back later. But as you said, it is aggravating and SHOULD NOT be this way. Maybe I’ve been more frustrated since the first time it happened was only 2 days after buying the truck brand new.
  2. Back from the dealership, not sure how another radio reprogram will solve it, but I guess I will see
  3. Ran across this article posted a couple of weeks ago here regarding the ongoing radio issues. https://www.gm-trucks.com/no-sound-silverado-sierra-gm-audio-bug-test/ I must say while I appreciate the article, I have my doubts since this has been going on for years across many models and still no resolution. Why has it taken GM engineering this long to figure it out? Ugh….
  4. What makes the issue most frustrating is it’s inconsistent. I’ve not been able to pinpoint a rhyme or reason. Time of day it happens, temperature, location, all different. And, it never happens consecutively, meaning if it’s happened and I turn off the truck and get out, go inside, and next time I start it to go somewhere, it works again.
  5. Well I’m back after 10 months of ownership and the audio issue continues. In February I tried another dealership and showed them the videos I took when there was no audio. The service advisor pulled the VIN, said there was a bulletin on it (said he wondered why the selling dealership didn’t do this) and needed to replace the amplifier. Brought it in, had it replaced, thought all would be good. About 2 weeks ago, same thing happened, and also today. Tried the reset holding the steering wheel button to no avail. This would be the fifth time bringing it back…I wish I knew if there was a loose ground or something causing this, I’m really fed up with this.
  6. I’ve owned 4 GM vehicles including a Sierra, Suburban, Silverado, and now another Silverado and didn’t have the quality issues this one does being brand new. Is it lemon law worthy? No. Am I disappointed having quality issues being brand new? Yes. Am I more aggravated the dealership I bought it from had it in their service department almost a month? Yes. I’ll simply hope I have no more issues and if so definitely won’t be using this particular dealership. The only reason I’ve brought it back to them a 2nd time was the bumper gap to grille issue was identified as I did the walk through before purchasing and the sales manager said they’ll take care of it, so they owed that to me. Little did I know they’d be nonchalant about taking care of it despite it being a new purchase. Again, lessons learned.
  7. After more than 3 weeks at the dealership, I finally picked up my truck. So far the bumper hasn’t shown any gaps (it was a week or so after the 1st time before it reappeared), and they put a dampener (their words) in the driver door to eliminate the rattle. Time here will also tell. But, this afternoon when starting my truck, the “no audio” issue happened. Tried the reset by holding the end call button, didn’t work. I do wonder if it’s Apple CarPlay related although I’m using wired, not wireless as I was the first time the “no audio” issue appeared. Nonetheless, 28 of 48 days of owning, 58%, has been in service… not a great experience GM. I even emailed the GM of the dealership and heard nothing. Pretty sad.
  8. Yesterday the salesperson called and said my truck was ready after 2 weeks. Went by to pick it up, bumper looked good (although it did last time until after I picked it up so we will see), drove it out of the lot and the rattle still there. Turned right back around to the service department where a few service employees were standing around and put the keys on the desk and said “rattle is still there.” One guy said he drove it and didn’t hear it so he took a ride with me to which I pointed it out and how I’ve identified where on the door panel it is and by pressing on the area it stops. I told him I emailed the service advisor 2 videos with the rattle and where I was pressing to stop it. Now it’s in for the 3rd time as a brand new purchase for the same rattle. Aggravating, disgusted, and disappointed that almost 50% of ownership since July 8 it’s been at the dealership…
  9. Yes it is. An identical truck on the lot to mine when I bought it didn’t have this gap. I can’t believe this would be acceptable, especially considering how wide of a gap mine has. For a $45K+ truck I expect better. If I knew this would have been such a pain to resolve I wouldn’t have bought it knowing it was there before purchasing. And with my continued door rattle? Poor quality from GM.
  10. Well here I am 2 weeks later and still no truck. The dealership has not initiated an update despite me texting and emailing the service advisor. The one time I did speak with the SA was me calling him, and was told my truck was at the body shop and that he’d call me that afternoon with an update (I’m still waiting…). The body shop called me last Wednesday and initially made it seem this “flexing” in the bumper is seen on other Silverado’s, but there was an identical truck to mine on the dealership lot and the first time I brought it in, the salesperson and I walked the it wasn’t like this. I tried calling the body shop back Friday for an update and the guy told me he’d call me right back, still waiting for that call too. Tomorrow makes 40 days since I purchased and 19 total days back at the dealer for the same repeat issues. This is my 4th GM vehicle and will likely be the last after this. How disappointing.
  11. I’m taking mine back to the dealership Monday as the rattle continues in the door panel and the front bumper trim that was supposedly fixed has now separated again. Haven’t even had it in one month and I’m bringing it back for two issues that were “resolved“ a couple of weeks back.
  12. I was able to get the bumper trim resolved, the radio is working but I haven’t reconnected it to wireless CarPlay yet. I did have a rattle in the driver door panel between the door and dash, they seem to simply remove and reinstall the door panel but the rattle is still there. It happens when the sun heats up the cab, clearly its plastic expanding. When it happens I can slide my hand between the door and dash and it stops. I can also push on the door panel at it stops.
  13. Purchased ‘25 Silverado Tuesday, during walkthrough found the bumper trim where it meets the grill was pushed out a bit in the middle, brought it back yesterday to have fixed. They have n identical truck to the one I bought on the lot and confirmed the bumper wasn’t pulled away so I know it isn’t normal. On Friday getting into the truck, no audio from unit, turn signal clicked, etc. Turned radio off/on, truck off/on, no luck. Got in it for lunch and leaving work, audio reappeared. Started it up Saturday to bring to dealer, no audio again. Service advisor tells me known issue, tries restart by holding microphone button, still no audio, so they’ll look into that too. The good thing is I have a video I shared with the Sales Manager Friday when it happened first. I thought more on if this coincided with me setting up Apple CarPlay on my drive home Thursday from work since this started Friday. I first paired my phone Bluetooth, then Apple CarPlay, wondering if that had something to do with this. Anyway, disappointing to learn of a “known issue” before I made the purchase. My hope is this isn’t a start to regret.
  14. Back to being a GM owner after a stint in SUV and others. 2025 Silverado LT purchase last Tuesday. It’s back at the dealer for a couple of things, hopefully simple fixes.
  15. Is there not a firmware upgrade that resolves it? One would think that if it were related to firmware there would be a fix.
  16. I purchased my ‘11 Silverado last May, approximately 76k miles. I’ve noticed while driving, especially when slowing down to maybe turn and then reaccelerating I get a clunk feel. I thought maybe it was the “driveshaft clunk”, but after lubricating the yolk, changing transmission fluid and filter, and replacing U joints (since I had it off), it still happens. From a stop, the shift between gears seem fine, no clunks, really only during downshift and reaccelerating. Could it be a/the solenoid(s), and if so, which one(s)? Any insight is greatly appreciated!
  17. The 4.8L doesn’t have AFM (thankfully).
  18. Thanks for the replies. I’ve done the transmission fluid/filter change, spark plugs 2 weeks ago (see my other thread on that). I’ve not done the brake/power steering fluids change, or coolant flush. Those make sense. Should I remove the thermostat to flush or no?
  19. 2 weeks ago, in my 11 Silverado 4.8L, I stopped at a red light and the truck started running rough. Service Stabilitrak message and flashing CEL appeared. Never died, and lights cleared once I took off. When I got home, I hooked my scanner up and received the generic cylinder, misfire error. I started small and removed all the spark plugs, where cylinder 5’s looked fouled. According to the maintenance records, the previous owner change the wires and plugs at about 56k miles in 2018. I changed them all. Since then, no additional issues. Should I be concerned with this one?
  20. Last May, I purchased a 2011 Silverado 4.8L V8 with about 77k miles. I now have 79k miles, and was thinking about doing some maintenance items since I’m not sure if they’ve been done by the previous owner: Serpentine and AC belt, tensioner, and pulley Then I thought if I have the belts and tensioner out of the way, should I go ahead and change water pump and thermostat? I also thought since I’d do that to go ahead and do a full coolant flush? is that being too proactive? I know how to do the work, and figured it’d be more of a safe than sorry reason since I’m doing other work and again, don’t believe it’s ever been done.
  21. Anyone with the the expertise to help?
  22. My “11 Silverado LT does not have Bluetooth and want to add a VCIM with Bluetooth. My question is my current VCIM has only one plug and the VCIM with Bluetooth I’ve seen on EBay has 3. Does this simply mean that 2 of the plugs will have nothing plugged in once installed? I don’t see additional plugs under the dash not being used. Thanks in advance.
  23. Weeks back while running a line for my rear camera install, I noticed water puddled on both sides of my front door sills. No sunroof, windshield was replaced back in May but didn’t think that was the issue as there was no evidence of water in kick panel areas, etc. I used the hose over the cab and saw water coming in from the bottom of the door gasket. I ordered a replacement for both sides, replaced, and after using the hose, drive thru car wash, and about 3” of rain yesterday, no leaks! Although the gaskets didn’t show signs of wear, damage, I guess age played its role. Maybe this will help some who have experienced find resolution. 2011 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Extended Cab Driver Side Body Mounted Door Weatherstrip Seal
