Ok, just got my 2014 Sierra back and was told that it was throwing codes saying it had a voltage drop. They said that there was a BULLETIN out for it and it recommended to replace all the ground and battery cables. The dealer said the cables were not handling the load, granted these are the factory cables that came on the truck! I just paid $525 to replace them all! My truck is not under the bumper to bumper warranty any more so I was stuck. I asked them how GM expects customers to pay for something that has obviously been a problem for alot of people, as I have found a bunch of threads with this happening to others. I have owned alot of trucks and never had issues with factory installed cables being a problem, especially a problem as dangerous as this. I was asked at by the snooty little punk when does the truck become yours and not Gm's! He tried to use a wheel bearing as an example of things that go wrong, but I told him that's a big difference from a battery cable that obviously can't handle the load that GM designed it for. The fact there is a bulletin on this shows they know it is a problem but there haven't been enough problems or deaths to take it public. So I guess they want a few people to be killed.or severly injured before they address it. Shows how they feel about customers. I have had the truck for 2 days and have not had the issue return but I am truly scared to drive this truck anymore, because it will only take it happening at the wrong time and I will be involved in a horrible accident as it only happens when turning or making a u-turn. But really GM at what point do you take responsibility for your mistakes? Battery cables should last the life of a vehicle not need to be replaced on a 2 or 3 yr. Old truck, especially one that cost $40000 brand new. I have been a GM fan for a long time, in fact my wife and I bought a 2015 Acadia a couple yrs ago, but after this I believe I will not have the same loyalty. They have lost there way and put profits before lives now and that's a damn shame! My local dealer is Dale Earnhardt GM in Tallahassee Fl. And they act like I had no right to be upset. If it was them riding with there kids in that truck and got hit I bet it would change there tune. I'm not sure what to do with this but feel like it needs to get out there to prevent some other poor family from having to experience a tragedy at the hands of some corporate shmuck who decided to keep things hush hush until they have no choice to fix the problem. The guy that told you it's your traction control is full of you know what! You better take that thing back before you get killed or hurt in that thing. Tell them what they told me and see if they will address it. Hope you get it figured out and if anybody has ideas on how to spread the word about this DEFECT please let me know. Thx.
