  1. I guess thats reasonable. On my truck the passenger side stops into position then the drivers side follows. Since there is a "thump" when done folding it makes the out of synch more noticeable since I hear one thump followed by another. I also noticed that the motor on my drivers side is louder. Almost as if its struggling. Either way its all the least of my worries now. Just this morning I backed out of my driveway and hit my passengers side on a pillar. I managed to brake just before but the momentum was enough to hit it and crack my amber clearance lens. So much time and money into this upgrade and one wrong move and it makes you feel like you totaled your truck.
  2. A little off topic but since the upgrade ive noticed my dqs mirrors fold in and out Not in sync. My drivers side is 1-2 seconds slower than the other. Not a huge deal but it kind of bugs me and I would feel alot better if everyone elses mirrors did the same lol. Anyone else experiencing this?
  3. Modjunky, do you have any tips for the diy harness, did you need any special tools, was the harness tape included? Also did you have to install the rzy jumper harness and if so, any tips on that?
  4. Can anyone that has ordered the DIY kit from Phil give their experience on the install process and if they had to do it again would you chose the custom harness instead?
  5. To anyone that this might help.... I succesfully installed DQS mirrors and driver door switch and now have working powerfold mirrors. Cant wait to go back to the dealer for RZY harness just to show them that the upgrade was possible. Im so happy with folding tow mirrors right now that I dont mind that I dont have any of the lights functioning on them. Im not looking forward to tackiling the rzy harness install. As usual big thanks to Phil and all he does. I will be contacting him about the custom door harnesses if he doesnt stop making them first.
  6. Thanks for the reply. I verified that I DO need the RZY harness because I'm missing pins #9 and #11 on my body harness. What I am interested in most is the powerfold function for the meantime. From my understanding the rzy harness only adds circuits to the lighting functions. I wonder if the fact yours is a 1500 differs in application to mine aside from considering the exhaust brake and ambient sensor on passenger side. Does yours have memory seats? Mine does not have memory seats. Just want to confirm if buying dqs and powerfold switch will be enough to give me powerfold, power adjust and heat. I know eventually I will need to install RZY jumper harness and additional door harnesses to get full light features. Here is a brief section I copied from a bulleting or instructions from gm ".......This upgrade is ONLY for the models listed below, and is NOT recommended on 2015 models without RPO AVF or 2014 models, due to electrical differences in the fuse protection." Then further down it states this " Trucks built at Flint Assembly, 11th VIN position “F” Note: DQS Camper Mirrors are NOT RECOMMENDED for upgrading NON-FLINT BUILT TRUCKS" Thus confusing me more because my truck is a 2105 model without rpo AVF but WAS built in Flint, MI 04/14
  7. Has anyone gone from DL8 to DQS on a 04/14 built, non AVF 2015 2500 diesel with K40 (exhaust brake) and no memory seat? Assuming I only install DQS mirrors and the driver side mirrow switch will I get powerfold to funtion as Im told they ARE pre wired for this? Most forums Ive read go from DL8 to DL3 or DPN to DQS. All GM dealers Ive spoken to tell me its not possible and blow me off but Ive learned not to believe everything they say since they also sold me DPNs assuring me they were powerfold. I'd like to be sure so I can get the correct DQS and door switch and hopefully prove my local dealer wrong.
