  1. hi, lots of searching hasn't gotten me an answer on this one. was wondering if there are any direct swap in OEM aluminum driveshafts for Regular Cab short Box trucks ( Fleetside 119.5" wheelbase) and to complicate further, 5 speed manual trans equipped. I don't know if the later model trucks may have had them installed... or if the earlier ones did either that may fit... mine is an '02 thanks in advance Tom
  2. I'm pretty sure I saw a set for sale in Windsor, ON (across the river from Detroit, MI) and he was asking $650 CDN (~$500 usd) for the set. If any of this means anything worthwhile to you, I could direct you to where i saw them listed. I've never heard of or seen these before... it's a plain solid black "steelie' wheel, it seems... Not sure what the deal with them is (re: DOT or anything else that would keep you from using them as a normal wheel)
  3. I'm curious if there are any "hypermilers" who are in a gmt800 and what youre able to pull off in that.
  4. I just did an e-fan swap on my 2002 1500 rcsb, replacing the clutch fan. My set up was from a 2006 6L . all the wiring fit like a glove- no surprises. Your main stuff is the cluster of relays and fuses that sits rearward of the main engine bay fuse box the wires to the fans the two ecu wires I went for the whole shebang with the pressure sensor setup and had to run 3 more wires for that. Everything was tucked into existing loom, or neatly tucked away. it looks quite good. the only thing i did differently was run a clean new ground for the fans instead of using the ground in the harness near the fan plugs. remember whether you do it half assed or the full shebang you will need to get your ecu tuned for it... your 2003 will be capable of getting tuned for the fans. hope this helps, Tom
  5. I have a 2002 myself and have been doing a lot of work to it recently. any chance the sound disapears when the guage/radio trim/bezel is off? I found it most interesting that GM put a micro bead of rtv like substance around the inside edges of the bezel to eliminate squeaking and vibrations. I wonder if that's deteriorated or fallen off on your car and is the cause of a squeak that you hear.
