  1. Under hood, it’s been filthy dirty and corroded since I’ve owned the truck and I guess it finally decided to die at a very unfortunate time.
  2. Update: after a month the truck is fixed. Nothing I did from taking out the dash is was just bad timing. Fuse block finally gave out and I ended up taking it to the dealership and paying a lot to have them fix it. Either way, truck is fixed, make sure you check your fuse blocks!!
  3. Will do I’m taking it into the shop tomorrow to see what’s up I’ve been banging my head against this for 3 days and I’m throwing in the towel. I will still attempt to fix it today if anybody has any pointers.
  4. Yes that’s what I originally thought so I took the dash back out but still couldn’t find the problem. There are only a handful of wires that were unplugged so I don’t believe I missed any
  5. The battery was disconnected during the work and when I tried to start it the voltage was 12.4 volts.
  6. Forgot about this thread. I ended up taking out my grille and deep cleaning my radiator, transmission radiator, and condenser. It seems to have helped greatly with heat. I haven’t towing anything that heavy for that long as of recently but it seems to have at least helped if not fixed the problem. I had a bunch of bent fins so I fixed that and installed a bug screen inside the grille to protect it in the future. Thanks!
  7. Hey guys, after taking my dash out and repairing some horrible cracks, I put the day back in to find out that my truck won’t start, crank, nothing. I have power to everything except my radio and climate control. I also have a code P0615. I’ve jumped my starter through the relay with my key on run and my truck wouldn’t start although it cranked. Also replaced ignition switch, nothing changed. Any ideas? Thanks.
  8. Less than a year ago it was. Yeah that’s what I’m currently planning to do.
  9. Hi guys I was wondering if you would have some insight into an issue I am facing with my 1500 Silverado Crew Cab 4wd 5.3L. The other day I was moving and I was towing a trailer with probably 4000lbs I would estimate. It was 105 outside and going down the highway at about 70mph my truck started to get pretty hot at probably 235. I turned my heater on as well as slowed down and I was able to finish off the day. I just figured that it was a hot day and I was pushing hard and didn't think much of it. No problems since until a day ago where I was hauling a fridge and some other stuff in the back on the highway and I began to overheat again. Same thing as last time but what is concerning me is that I wasn't moving that much weight this time and I began to overheat again. It was another hot 105 degree day and I am not sure whether its just because its hot out or something is wrong. Coolant is topped off, and my radiator looks like it could use a cleaning but it doesn't look all that dirty. Also I only overheated on the highway, slowing down driving in town was fine and even idling was fine, it was only highway speeds. Anybody got any ideas? TLDR: Truck is overheating at highway speeds only and only when towing at least a couple hundred pounds of weight. Idling and driving in town is fine.
  10. Ok update. After taking everything apart I found that my door actuator was barely moving so that got replaced and now the door locks. I also got a window switch for the passenger after trying the back door switch and seeing that it worked and that fixed the problem also. That’s strange because in the past I replaced the switch and it didn’t help. The driver side works better now but it’s still a bit hard to se, I’m guessing it’s dirty. Anyway thanks for the help it’s all working now!
  11. Ok I’ll plan on doing that I just wanted to get some opinions before I tear it apart. That’s interesting... this has been going on for a couple months now and progressively gotten worse
  12. Yeah so I don’t hear any noise when I try, it’s almost like it’s underpowered or something. I replaced the passenger switch a while back and that didn’t help. The passenger switch brings it down but not up and the driver side can barely bring it up you have to press extra hard. I am thinking maybe some dirty or loose wires? Sorry for the long reply been busy.
  13. Hi guys. I have a problem with my 2008 Silverado 1500 crew cab. The passenger side switch only rolls the window down and now the lock won’t unlock or lock, it’s like it’s underpowered and gets stuck, however, you can still lock it manually. Anybody got any ideas? Thanks!
