  1. Hi all, Have an odd issue (it’s going to the dealer tomorrow for this and an odd DRL issue). This just started a few weeks ago. Was intermittent and now happens just about every time. When pressing the brake pedal, it makes this odd squeak / chirping noise. It’s def coming from the engine bay, but, can’t figure it out. Happens when truck is on or off. 2022.5 2.7l with 27k. Any ideas here? YouTube link attached.
  2. Got ya! The version I pulled up stopped at 2022...and 2022 was only the 2500/3500 - so probably just an older PDF. Thank you for sharing it, though.
  3. My truck is not listed in that TSB, as it's a '22 refresh...but, it only showed up when they went to program the second key...but, here's what I learned from the dealer yesterday... When programming a new key or doing other things with the computer, there is a "security" window that you have to wait through to get things done. It could be either ten minutes or over an hour. The service guy said that when doing that, it will enable that feature for up to 24 hours so the truck doesn't turn off when doing programming of some sort. It went away on it's own yesterday and hasn't been back on since. Whether the dealer was right or not, who knows...but it's gone, and I'm able to turn it on as I wish for just a single ignition cycle, if needed.
  4. Yeah I could not find anything. I'm sure the dealer can re-flash the computer to get it back to stock...just didn't want to if I didn't have to.
  5. Okay y’all - I have a tricky one. Last week, I bought a pre-owned 22 LT with the refreshed interior. Love the truck and features and all that fun stuff. As the truck only came with one key, I went to the dealership today to have the second key made as part of the deal. I didn’t catch this when I left as the truck was driven up and brought to me and left on, but when I left and started going other places, I noticed now every time I start the vehicle, it says “Automatic Shutdown - Disabled”. I’m aware of the feature but was reading that I’d have to do this every time I start the truck, but, it’s on by default now. I don’t mind the feature being on, but, now I have to dismiss the screen every time I start the truck. I think it’s odd it started after getting a second key programmed and added, but, no idea why. Anything I can do at home or is a trip to the dealer needed to reset this using a scan tool?
  6. How do you get to the Torx T-50? Do you have to take the airbag off? Is that hard? Any issues with the clock spring?
  7. I found this article posted in one of my FB forums for the Silverado and found it to be rather interesting. I tried searching to see if it was posted before, but I didn't find it (my search skills are not that great), but, thought it explained the issues (and how to fix them) rather well... https://gearsmagazine.com/magazine/what-is-causing-that-a-look-at-the-gm-8l90s-most-common-concerns/?fbclid=IwAR1PP-PrKZdPE0u4CMPgAneomRh9UzeUgBIivggvfYrWFisq0E7hssJe2tE
  8. Okay - got my truck back today. Basically the alignment was so jacked up from the factory - way out of spec, that, when they actually aligned it, the steering wheel was so far off center that it was causing issues with the traction control system and power steering control module. They had to align in, center the wheel, reprogram the power steering control module and show it as centered. Drives like a dream now... I have to take it back when the parts come in to fix the chaffed wiring harness.
  9. Well. Latest update said that they have talked to the GM tech engineers and are now involving the power steering control module and some updated programming...
  10. Bringing this back up...finally hit 750 miles after three months and two days of ownership. scheduled my appointment for today. Dropped it off and was told there were two recalls - one for the brake system programming and one for the wire harness rub. They got the recalls done first - then spent five hours trying to align it. They called me tonight at 5:30 and said there is “more wrong with it then a typical alignment should fix” and that they needed to ask GM how to proceed. any idea what could be wrong? Was offered a loaner, which I will pick up tomorrow. like...really?!? Lol.
  11. Isn't that noise the blend doors for the HVAC??
  12. This must be special order or dealer request, because my Custom came with the center console (bench seat) that opened and had storage in it.
  13. Well - have had mine for five weeks now (bought 3/28). Just filled it up for the first time yesterday. Went 348 miles and took 20.4 gallons. Like someone mentioned above, I'm taking relatively short, 3-4 mile trips which of course eat in to the MPG of the truck. Only have 355 miles on it...so, it's going to take a bit to rack them up under the current scenario of COVID-19... But, aside from that, I do love it, and enjoy the turbo in it. Plenty of power for my needs.
  14. The shudder issues were with the 2019 earlier versions of the 8 speed trans. In March of 2019, they replaced the fluid used to avoid it absorbing too much moisture. In my 2019 Colorado, I had a build date of October 2018, and had the horrible shudder, among other issues, however, the new fluid fixed most of it. If you have a truck with a build date after March, 2019 (which you likely do getting a new 2020), then you're good. I got a 2020 2.7L with the 8 speed last month and the trans is night and day from my Colorado, which got traded in.
  15. This is good feedback here. Will give it a try tomorrow.
  16. Question for you guys. Tomorrow marks day 30 with my new 2020 Custom. I have exactly 213.7 miles on my truck (haven't driven much due to stay at home restrictions - and am still on the original delivery tank of gas!!! ). When I purchased the truck, I noticed the steering wheel was not centered when driving. Given it only had 4 miles when I bought it, and the tire pressure was set to 45 - I was told to bring it back that Monday when service opened and they would take care of it. Well, that Monday, I brought it back, and was told that GM says to wait 750 miles before they will align it. Does anyone know if that's really true? At this rate, it's going to be like 3-4 months before I get there, and I don't want to NOT get my alignment on GM's dime... I get waiting some time to get things settle and such, but 750 miles seems rather long...at this point, but also don't want to wear tires any faster than it needs. And for those asking, it pulls LEFT, not right, like you'd expect it following the crown of the road. Thoughts?
  17. So - here's a question. Is the wiring harness there already? I have a custom, and do not have the power in the back seat by the vents, but, would love a USB for charging only for my minions back there.
  18. Thank you so much for this. I trust you ordered the one WITHOUT the heated steering wheel, since, well, it's not an option in our trucks? Do you have the part number of the one you did order?
  19. Hi all, Long time lurker, first time poster. Have picked me up a 2020 Custom Crew Cab with the 2.7L which I absolutely love. Granted, it’s only been driven 120 miles in the last month, but that’s okay. Coming from a 2019 Colorado LT, the only thing I really miss is the leather wrapped steering wheel. I've found the part I need on several GM parts sites, but am curious if it is truly a direct swap? I know some of the buttons on the right side won’t work, and that’s fine, only need cruise anyway, but am wanting to know if anyone has done this. Thank you in advance. Daniel
