  1. I assumed your vehicle is a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado LT and used a 5.3. I've attached the wiring diagrams 2 parts for the interior lights for your truck. The diagrams were available from my local library online auto repair source. Check into it at your local pubic library they often offer an auto repair source online. There's 4 more diagrams for Interior Light Dimming but left them out. Hope this helps! 2021 Silverado LT Interior Lights 1.pdf 2021 Silverado LT Interior Lights 2.pdf
  2. Revisiting this issue again and noticed your reply. I can see that HDC wouldn't simply be plug and play by just installing the correct Stability Control Switch bank with the HDC added. The HDC switch simply supplies a ground to the body control module in the wiring diagrams and my truck has cruise control required for HDC to function through the + and - buttons. If the correct body control module was installed or reflashing the currently installed factory one? If you could explain "nor can it be retrofitted" would be appreciated.
  3. Question? Does anybody know if it's possible to add "Hill Descent Control" on 4 x 4 trucks that didn't come with it from the factory that have cruise control. I know it would require the correct stability control switch GM P/N 23145106 bank adding the Hill Descent Control button applicable with the options on my truck. When pushed this button simply applies a ground to the body control module so must be an RS flipflop logic switch. When I hook up my bi-directional scanner and activate all instrument cluster lights the "Hill Descent Control" light illuminates in the cluster. I'm going to assume for the system to function the Body Control Module would have to be reflashed opening up the "Hill Descent" system but??? Anybody
  4. Question Anyone. 2016 GMC Sierra 4x4 5.3L. Can you replace the Throttle Position Sensor clipped to the side of the Throttle Body without having to replace the entire throttle body. I can't find a stand alone P/N for the TPS from year 2014 onward even though it's attached just like it is on a 2013 and older 5.3L which there is a stand alone TPS part available.
  5. Thanks Richard, long story short buddy said his truck was running really rough and check engine light illuminated but then he had disconnected the battery for at least 2-3+ weeks. When I hooked up a code reader no code there? I was wondering if he was mistaken about the check engine light or code got erased due to battery disconnection. Sounds like the latter, thanks for the info.
  6. Question anyone? 07' Chev Silver 5.3 newer model. Question is if the ECM sees a code, will that code be stored in the ECM non volatile memory until it's either erased or fixed regardless of how long the battery has been disconnected for does it get erased by disconnecting the battery for an extended period.
  7. After reading the owner's manual says when you first start the truck initiates a lamp test in the cluster and on my truck the HDC green light does not illuminate so I infer by that the HDC system is inactive and simply installing the switch won't make the system function. It would more than likely require the body control module to be programmed/flashed. Looking at how the HDC system works tells me 90-95%+ of the trucks equipped with it is never used since most trucks are driven on pavement only. If it was just installing the switch bank for $30 OK but not worth pursuing any further. Thanks for the replies.
  8. Question anyone? On a 2016 GMC Sierra 4x4 SLE 5.3 with cruise control but didn't come with Z71 offroad. Looking at the wiring diagrams shows Hill Descent Control is one wire from the body control module to the center stack switch assembly and once the switch is pushed applies a ground to that wire activating the system. If you were to install the correct center stack stab switch assy with the Hill Descent Control button, could it be that easy to acquire the complete system functionality?
  9. JSdirt, thanks for the info, I didn't want to drop 500-1000 bills on a bidirectional scanner or pay a shop the same or more to do an idle relearn and get told "We also had to replace the reverse osmosis gonkulator inline accumulator check valve to fix the idle so the total bill after giving you a break on the parts is $1823.69 and that's got er purrin' like a kitten for ya".
  10. I have an 07' Silverado newer non Classic and got DTC P0121 Throttle calibration out of range. Cleaned the throttle body and cleared the code. Truck now has really high idle in park and won't relearn under the 3 min run, 60 sec off, 3 min run solution. Drove it to a hwy and at a red light in drive the idle came down to 600rpm. Drove down the hwy going above and below 45mph got back home came to a stop the idle is 600rpm put it in park and it goes back up to 2500rpm? Anyway to perform idle relearn without a high scan tool that can perform that function. Maybe disconnect the battery or just drive it around until it learns? Any help would be appreciated!
