I appreciate all of the input but it just seems like if GM is going to offer an outside keypad to be installed on the truck then there should be a way for everything to still function. The whole point of the keypad is so I don’t have to carry my key fob with me. Ford uses the same kind of push button start technology and I was able to remote start it with my OnStar app and the fob locked in the vehicle. I just hope there is some way around this. I know they make a pouch that I can put the fob into but then that just seems like a lot of work when I get in and get out. Take the fob out to start the truck and then put the fob in the pouch before I get out. There has to be a programming feature that can be changed.

I have a 2021 GMC 1500 AT4 pickup. I installed the GM outside keypad to unlock and lock my doors so I can leave the fob inside (I was a Ford owner and liked that feature). The truck has no problem locking the fob in the truck when I lock the doors using the keypad. What I can't figure out is, how to remote start the truck from my OnStar app with the remote locked in the vehicle. Is there a setting I can turn off? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
