  1. SoCal Angler... I have a 2021 Silverado 2500HD CC, duramax. Love the truck and we put a Cirrus 620 onto our rig. We love it. I don't have the multigate so we use a little giant step ladder to access. Works fantastic. On our rig it is all stock, no mods. The height of the tailgate dropped when the bed is empty is 40". With the camper in the bed that changes to 36". The tailgate closes fine with the camper in it and has just enough room to allow the step ladder to nest between the camper rear wall and the tailgate closed with a large flat rubber pad between the camper and step ladder. We specifically did not want a camper that required the tailgate to be removed. For us the 620 fit the bill. Shoot me a PM and happy to give you Cirrus lowdown if you are interested. Another thought to think through is hitch needs. We don't tow but but we do carry mtn bikes and sometimes a hitch mount cargo box. It was important for us to make sure those two items work as swing away items so the tailgate can drop without dealing with hitch shenanigans. All that's been great and going well. There are loads of camper choices out there and very cool ideas that just keep getting better. Be patient and willing to search a wide footprint. We live in the PNW but bought the truck and camper separately in Idaho as we could not find the right unit and price here. Loads of awesome popups are out there... Hope this helps... FYI... if you do go a camper route... I purchased quick release brackets for camper jacks and travel with the jacks securely on the floor in the back of the truck cab. So nice to not have then protrude out, catch something or have someone smack them and twist the camper. Have fun hunting and good luck... let me know what you end up doing...
  2. And... if one is putting a slide in camper into the truck bed vs towing a trailer, one might be surprised by the actual slide in camper payload listed by GM. Yes the pillar sticker has the numbers, BUT in the glove box of my 2021 2500 Duramax Crewcab is a sticker specifically with a load rating for a slide in camper. The number is quite different than what is put on the pillar. Yup... less! That was news to me... so if one is using a slide in camper in the bed vs towing a camper, suggest to check the GM sticker in the glove box and see what the truck is rated for that purpose. I love my truck but was quite surprised to see a difference.
  3. Minka, Sorry for the late reply but I don't see why it wouldn't work. Same truck as mine except I am a 21 2500 HD duramax. The dc to dc charger is a great way to go... I think while driving it is a simple opportunity to capture energy and and top things off... I'm quite happy with my set up... hope this helps!
  4. I hit the dealer up and boom.. resolved. The front desk service guy jumped right up with a handheld unit and instantly set all tires properly to read in their position. Super impressed how easy he made it happen. I love small dealerships in a small town... thank you for your help gentlemen!
  5. Man you guys ALWAYS come through! Right down to the very page deep in the manual. How come you guys don't wear a Chevy Hero Cape? Thank you so much... will hit up the dealer tomorrow and start there. Love this forum and depth of expertise... Much appreciated!
  6. I have a 2021 2500HD 4x4 CC Duramax... Love it. I recently hit 15k and had the dealer service it. I just completed a trip without my camper on it and now have 15.6K on it. I run my tire pressure 60 up front and 70 in back without the camper. They changed the oil and rotated tires. Pre-trip check at home showed the TPMS just the opposite. 70 up front and 60 in the rear. I was confused... I took out my tire gauge and read each tire. At the valve stem it read 60 up front and 70 in the rear. BUT the TPMS on the dash showed the opposite. I questioned my air gauge at home and stopped by Les Schwab to get a reading... same thing. 60 up front 70 at the rear. So my question is... when tires are rotated is each tire assigned a forward and rear position? Does the TPMS follow that for each tire and that info is displayed on the dash? I'm wondering if the dealer somehow reversed assigning the tires? I don't know how the TPMS is configured when tires are rotated, but I definitely need accurate TPMS for my truck and camper. I'll check in with the dealer but what do folks say about this? Those of you that rotate your own tires, how do you assign tire position for accurate TPMS? Wondering how to have this conversation with the dealer and get my display to be accurate. I certainly have a discrepancy at the valve stem and display for tire position. For now I'm trusting the valve stem... ugh... looking for your expertise and insights when I talk with the dealer this week. THANKS!
