  1. Going to pick up a Purolator or Wix replacement with the 22 psi bypass today. The parts store near my job should have one or the other. What a confusing mess. I appreciate everyone helping shed some light on the different twists and turns of the apparently “new” PF63 (GM 12707246).
  2. Thank you folks. Im not sure either why GM would specify one filter in the manual and not have it on the truck... Especially if it has a different rated bypass spring. But that’s what they did. Now that it’s 2000 miles in, I guess I’m going to change to a filter I know is correct.
  3. Hello all! New member here from Texas. Started out on trucks back in the 80s, and had a 89 Silverado with the 5.0 that went 250K+ with minimal issues. I’ve been away from Chevys for a few years, but just brought home a 2021 LT Trail Boss with the 5.3 . Im looking forward to participating, learning around here.
  4. Hello all. Recently got a 2021 Trail Boss with the 5.3 . My manual clearly states to use a PF63E oil filter. However the filter on my truck (original filter- brand new truck) is marked as PF63. Just PF63... no E. I tried to search the topic here and found a lot of discussion about the e cores and other filters. But have they changed specs? I thought PF63 had the wrong bypass setting for the new 5.3 trucks? I plan to go with a different brand filter from here on, but should I cross reference from PF63E or PF63?
