  1. I have read all the comments here about the pros and cons of a catch can. I never planned to do anything other than fuel induction servicing at about 60k miles. It wasn't until last week when the truck gave an "add engine oil" warning that I got serious about my amount of unknown oil consumption. It was then that I learned I'm burning a quart in 1500 miles. Then this week it ran horribly and set a rough idle and random multiple misfire code. Serviced the throttle body and did an old school fuel induction IV treatment on it and the engine went back to like new idling. I tow every day so if I can catch any of the quart of oil I'm losing then that's a bonus to me. If I can't stop the oil loss at least I can save some of it from the intake valves. Just my .02 cents!! Can installed on driver side today.
  2. Anyone using catch cans and have one on the passenger side? Does it catch anything on that side? I see oil residue in the tube to the throttle body housing but none in the housing itself. I'm burning a qt every 1500 miles so it's getting the catch can. Just not sure if I need one on both sides. 43k miles and had the rough idle and misfire codes. Just did the fuel induction cleaner and dealer mechanic said add the catch can. Thanks
  3. Well they got it corrected... tech said all the shift point pressures were way out of spec for every shift point. They flashed the computer with a patch from Chevrolet case files. I drove the truck and it's better than it was when I bought it. No banging or binding. No lag in throttle when turning. Noticed rpms are down around 1800 at 70 mph. Before it ran near 2000 ram. Fluid looked good and didnt smell burnt. Let's see how long it last..... hope this helps you guys!
  4. I tow a 7500 lb trailer daily. I use tow/haul mode when driving above 50 mph. When I made the appt with the dealer they told me to drive 2 weeks without towing so the adaptive transmission technology system could relearn the shift points while not towing. Sounded like BS but I did that anyway. Now the tech is checking the fluid level and color to see if it needs a fluid change. They are also checking for flash updates for the control module. They said they can make a case file to see what chevrolet tells them to do next. We will se what BS they give me to claim its normal....
  5. I am currently at the dealer with this exact problem with my 2022 2500 LT gasser. Clunk is so loud you can hear the u joints bang and the truck tugs like it binds up for 2 seconds. The stall when turning at 15 mph is ridiculous. Never had this issue until 19k miles. Waiting to see what they say. After the test drive the tech said it's horrible......
  6. Well, after time at the dealer and speaking with the Chevrolet rep here is what I learned.... 7 months ago Chevrolet canceled the trailer view as part of the hitch guidance package on the HD LT line and reserved it for the High Country and LTZ lines. The advanced trailering package was halted on the LT line because Chevrolet felt they should offer all or nothing. They said this was due to supply constraints. I was told that they have submitted a case file for my truck to Chevrolet to see if they will permit the advanced trailering software to be added even though I don't have the dual camera tailgate handle because the camera isn't used for that software to recognize or store trailer info. They also said that the website states hitch view is a part of the package I have because they plan to resume that on the LT models at some point. They did offer to allow me to upgrade the truck camera package with the power tailgate option for $4700. Not spending that! Certainly disappointed that the info was misleading. Live and learn I guess.
  7. I just spoke with the dealership I purchased from. They said Chevrolet sends a task list with each vehicle and that list directs them to add or remove features based on what packages each vehicle is sold with. He said this vehicle should have had the dark essentials badging added and the camera system activated to include the hitch guidance features and trailer memory features. At the time of purchase I elected not to have the badges changed so the vehicle was not sent to the service dept for the task list to be completed. So my camera is hd but is not activated therefor giving poor picture quality. Bringing it back on Monday and we will see if it's better. I would have thought Chevrolet would have sent the truck with activated options at the time they built it......
  8. New Silverado 2500hd owner (2022 LT) The backup camera has 2 options to select from the vehicle path or trailer path but does not allow hitch view. Is that something the dealer can activate? Also, the camera quality is poor. At night the screen is so bright and grainy it can barely be used. In the Ram I traded in I could set different trailers and see very clearly. With this new truck hooking up the trailer is a challenge to say the least. What can be done to make this better? Window sticker says it has the trailering package with hitch guidance but when I search that this vehicle clearly does not have those options. Is this an error on GM or what? Thanks for any input.
  9. Thanks for the info!
