  1. Since I have a factory disabled 5.3 that makes me feel better. Previous was a 08 5.3 AFM that I traded at 100k that never had an issue. Question on the bad batch of lifters. Are the Sept 2020 to March 2021 engine dates or vehicle completion dates?
  2. A extended warranty is probably the best we will get. To me there is a design failure in the DFM lifters. My thoughts are they discontinued DFM due to this failure as they try to plan the next step, while still being able to put product out. For me it would be nice if they replaced the lifters with a standard design and made corrections to the oiling system. It is such a shame they are destroying their reputation for dependable motors but the government is forcing their hand with the fleet fuel standards.
  3. Good to hear some positive news. Have 2k on mine and want to see a whole lot more. Have a oil pressure question. My 5.3 no DFM from factory, has 90 lbs oil pressure on a cold start, normally runs down the road just below 60, and drops to 30 or a hair under at idle. Is this what others have seen on theirs?
  4. Well that kills a couple of the theories. Do you know if they are using the standard DFM lifters as replacement or a different design since the DFM is not active.
  5. Was interested if any of the trucks shipped without DFM have had any lifter failures? Understand they have all the same mechanical parts so am concerned as I have a 2021 Sierra with a May build date. Outside the known date but since the hours were high compared to the miles thinking it may have been one that was idle tested.
