SOLVED So I took a guess and changed out the door latch assembly - problem solved and works great -- I also run amp research drop down steps... its the same sensor that lets the steps deploy when door is opened -- watched this great video on youtube and learned how to change it out -- great video

So I am new to this forum -- just bought a 2005 GMC Sierra 2500 with 48k on it -- love this truck so far I have the 8.1 L and its 4x4 - yes I know gas is crazy right now but just love driving big cars and trucks --- anyway I have notice that the drivers door does not operate the dome light?? when I first open the drivers door the light kinda wants to come on a split second and then nothing... now all the other doors will turn the light on as normal -- I am thinking the door latch assembly might be the problem? But I thought you experts might have a say so in this matter? also it looks as if 6 wires go to this assembly -- 3 pairs plug in to it? what are they used for? thanks in advance
