  1. Hello all, have a question. I have a 2000 silverado 4x4. The engine needs to come out and get reconditioned. In the meantime, I also have a gen I SBC that needs refreshed, rebuilt. Once I pull the LS1, the 2000 chassis will stay empty (frame rust and such. Once I get the Gen I SBC finished/refreshed/rebuilt, I would like to stuff it in the 2000 just for a place to put it, and get it out of the garage. I know in older camaros, like the 1980's series, to get a LS1 in there, you have to cut the sub frame a little, etc. Will I have to do anything when I drop a Gen I into a LS truck frame? Will it fit as is? Like I say, its just to sit in there. 2 motor mounts and maybe a trans shell to hold the back end up with a broom stick for output shaft if the tail doesnt reach the tranny cross member, lol.. Would like it strapped enough to start it and tune it also. What ya all think?
